I've been friends with this guy for almost 20 years and he asked me to be his 'best woman.' Wedding is Sunday. I love the idea but need tips on making a toast. I've known his fiance for about 3 years. I want to make sure that my speech talks about both of them--not just him. Also, I keep thinking that I will never have this opportunity to be 'best woman' again, so I better do it right.
He even wanted me to come to the bachelor party with my FH. I declined and went to his FW's bachelorette party instead. It made me nervous because I feel like all of the ladies who were there expect me to do such a super job (they like the idea of a 'best woman.')

Re: I am the 'best woman'
Ok, I think I have a pretty good speech, but I am too nervous to even practice it on my FH. So, that is not a good sign. I did, however, prep my FH as to who's who at this wedding. The groom's family knows me but they never met my FH.

Re: I am the 'best woman'
Well, I got through it just fine.
It was much easier to give my speech after I had seen the bride and groom give speeches for each other and after all the friends and family wished me luck. Also, the bride sat down with me for a few mintues to tell me that she loves me and approves and understands my special friendship with her husband!!
It was fun being 'best woman.' I even had to walk the MOH down the aisle!!!
During the ceremony, I stood by the chuppah, beside the groom and his brothers.
I guess it was a lot for me because I slept 17 hours last night (not kidding!!). I fell asleep right after the wedding and kept on sleeping!
