I am THISCLOSE to quitting

For 6 months I had to be assistant to one of the partners while his assistant was on medical leave. Praise the Lord she is back now I am free to do what I was hired to do. I was in our copy room which has a door to a conference room, I cannot see in there. Partners assistant brought a client into the conference room and left the door open. We dont have huge clunking copy machine, none the less I am making my copies and partnerman comes in and starts screaming at me!!! STACEY WHATS WRONG WITH YOU YOUR MAKING A RACKET AND I HAVE A CLIENT HERE

EXCUSE ME??? Why didnt your frigin assistant close the door how the hell was I supposed to know that someone was in there????

I have taken so much abuse from this jerk that I really just want to quit and look for something else

That is nothing, 2 weeks before I got married he called me a moron because I called a cab for him and the CAB didnt know where to go....so I was the moron.

I hate when people talk down to me.

DRIVES ME INSANE! my old liason did that. He's a big italian guy, who because he's the boss thinks he can do those things to everyone....well, I talked right back to him, not rude, just stern and 'matter-of-fact' put him in his place. He never did it again, and I earned much respect from the entire buildng too

I worked for an azz like this - if he is no longer your direct boss I wouldn't quit .....

Will you get into trouble if you ask him to speak to you with a better tone of voice?

this is a small co, 18 employees here, 25 in Moscow. He is the Partner...IE nothing I can do. Believe me I have talked back to him before but it just gets so annoying that He verbally abuses me and does it in front of others. It doesnt take a genius to realize we just dont click, why make matters worse by talking to me like that?

Stacey, I really feel for you!!! I just left a job because of massive verbal and emotional abuse by my boss!!! I am really glad I left (even though I'm unemployed now) The one thing I do regret is not taking it further and making a complaint to H.R. I just wasn't strong enough at the time!!! Hang in there, and do what is best for you!!! Believe me, no job is worth it and you are a human being (bosses tend to forget that sometimes)!! Good luck!!
