where to get a puppy?C'mon I gotcha didn't I

FH who is like most men, laid back, told me yesterday that he wants us to get a puppy!
As a kid I always wanted a dog but I have severe allergies and I never thought it would be possible until I heard that some breeds are hypoallergenic!
Right now, I am online and I want this cute Llhasa-poo. And the special thing about here was that she was born the day before we got engaged!


I know grkbabrie just bought a puppy, the cutest thing being on earth IMO. The thing is that I an looking to purchase online because in-store pups are soo expensive. We really want a puppy and are willing to deduct from our little savings...Any thoughts or advice?

i paid 1300 for that lil fker. but that includes exams for a yr and allllllllll shots and meds. Hes a toy Maltese, he will only be 4 lbs fully grown. The store I got it from hand feeds the pupps and the store is sooooooooooo clean. I would never
buy a puppy from a website.
I was picky, i wanted to make sure the dog didnt have an overbite. lol I knwoRey bought her pups online and they are absolutley gooooooorgeous, but i didnt wanna take the chance.

prices may be cheaper than the store, but i'd want to interact with the pup and actually check him out.

breeders are good, i contacted one in long island but she wanted just as much for a yorkie but healthcare is not included and she was interviewing me over the phone and it was VERRRY intimidating. i felt like i wasnt good enough to have her puppy. i duno... fm me if you want info on the store i got my Maltese from

My parents just got a Cavalier King Charlies Spaniel. He's in one of my albums. They paid $3k for him from a breeder. The dog is crazy and terrified of everyone, so sometimes its not the best to go through a breeder.

Personally, go to North Shore Animal League. They do have pure-breeds btu they go quick. Help a little dog who needs a home!

i love dogs and so does FH but he had a husky as a kid and was so upset when he died that he never wants to go through that again.

i keep telling him eventually we are getting a dog...i feel like a house isnt the same without a pet. for now we just have out bratty kitten but i do agree with the other girls about adopting. its such a good feeling to know you truly saved the dogs life.
and even if its a mutt...sometimes they are better than purebreads because they have mixed demeanors of the breeds

if you go to an actual smaller scale shelter (not something big like North Shore AL) you'd be mighty surprised at what pure breds are there. Plus you'll be saving a life!

I can't say enough about the Wantagh (LI) location, I used to just go in and play with the animals (no i didn't volunteer) and I saw how great the staff actually treated the animals. plus they were good with the vaccinations and stuff
