Hey lovely ladies, I am jumping on before I run around again for work.
I know you ladies may know. And some have gone through this already
I am planning on doing wine favors. But I am annoyed at the prices I am getting. I want a nice wine in a 375 size or full that isn’t going to kill my FMIL budget (she is being a dear & getting this but I don’t want her to go too overboard). I am not a big red winer, lol, but FH is & there are a couple of wines he likes. I looked into Kendal Jackson Cabernet, b/c they did not seem too expensive but the 375 price was still over 7 dollars where I looked. (maybe the local liquor store here are charging too much, I have no idea) There was another wine I liked Louis Jadot wine but thanks in part to the Euro kicking our @ss, it went up in price too.
I am even trying to think about LI wineries (I would even drive out there!) but I am not sure which to check & which may do a nice wine in perhaps the smaller size at a good price?
Ugh. Any ideas, where to go on LI (I know there are some places in the city ie trader joes for two buck chuck), and what wines you are doing with ballpark prices (if you do not mind)
I would super appreciate this & want to get this done already.
Oh and advice for those thinking about doing this. buy the bottles soon if they are from Europe, because I think prices will still go up. Plus our wacky weather is sure to affect local grapes too.

CK MONDAVI CABERNET!!!!! ITS DELISH and we got is for about $5/bottle for a case and I believe POPs in Island Park is still having their 30% off semi annual sale so I would go there IMMEDIATELY!!!! You may be able to get a great deal!!! They can help alot! They have a FABULOUS selection!

Try Cappy's in Valley Stream. DGoldfarb got her wine there for abour 3-4 dollars!

I went to Cappy's in Valley Stream- they have full bottles and have a very large selection- we went with a Crane Lake Cabornet (sorry about the spelling) and spent $3.75 per bottle there - usually it's about $5.00 per bottle.
If you need the phone number and address I'll put it below and such they were really really helpful- just give them two weeks to get your order in.

Lots of luck on it- what FH and I found fun about is just buying bottles to try and taste.. we only had to buy 4 but it was fun..

well they one we like is the one that went up in price . So I am now on a hunt to either get another option or find someone that is selling it a reasonable price.
I would love to get a kendall jackson cabernet in a 375 size for $5 but that doesn't seem like it is going to happen..lol

i am doing pindar, autumn gold. it's a nice white wine. Your better off getting the full size b/c the small bottles are custom order and cost more. i think the pindar bottle that I'm getting is $8.
