I booked my date!!!

Finally... we decided on The Carltun May 20, 2006. I'm so excited!! So now we have to figure out the music situation, and start looking into photographers.

Has anyone used Jovan Photographers? They are a recommended vendor of the carltuns... I'd be interested in any feedback.

Congrats! The Carltun is an excellent choice!

I've heard that JoVan is not so great on the service side of things, I would do a board search and see what you come up with. Good luck!

COngrats on bookng the Carltun, I have been to a few weddings there and it is great!

I met with Jo Von as they are a vendor where I am getting married and I was NOT impressed by them at all, I felt like I was getting pitched a sale and the salesman was so bad, he was this young guy who knew nothing about photgrapher, totally turned me off to them but again each bride can have a different experience, some LOVE certain vendors, it can't hurt to make an appointment with them to get an idea

Congratson booking a date! I'm a Carltun bride too. We didn't use any of their recommended vendors, but feel free to ask me anything about the Carltun. I'd be happy to help!

congrats! i haven't heard postitive things about jovon. they were a recommended vendor for my location, but they are taking them off their list bc they have given their brides lots of problems!! good luck with your planning and have fun! ~lacey

I am using Jovon and have had no problems so far- there pics are amazing- two of my girlfriends used them- if you can meet with Telmo he is the best- i also met with Dave he was nice to but i just think Telmo is amazing

Congradulation. We looked at the carlton Also May 20.... Have funny... we went with the Bourne Manasion and Official gave our deposit today.... Best of luck.... I loved the Carltun

I am having my wedding at The Carltun also!! I loved it there.. its $$$ but I loved it so we will manage. We had my sister's bridal shower there last year in the palm court restaurant there and it was great! & I've heard only great things about it... I was wondering, i was told the pianos don't self play & you would need to hire a pianist.. do you know if any music is played at all during the cocktail hour... or if you definitely need a pianist to come. I'm nost likely having a DJ so that would be another expense.

Yes, you'll need to hire a pianist if you want piano music during the cocktail hour. I'm not sure if there is other music 'piped in' though. I doubt it, but I'm not sure.
