I booked the chuch now some advice please...

HI LADIES!!!

I finally booked the church on Monday..they gave me such a hard time because they said it was so far away...grrrr...but I made a bit of a stink and they booked it. some of the questions they asked were so weird...I think I sweated the entire time.

So now I'm on to DJ's, Photo. and Florists.

I got a call from East Coast Entertainment the other night that they are having a show case anyone ever use them?

Your first visit they normally just ask you basic questions like have either of you been married? have you both been baptised, communion, confirmation? Have you had mental problems? Umm, what else.....dont worry! Its not that bad.

If you have to take the FOCCUS test....have fun!! Its sooo funny the things they ask you on there, and going over the test wtih the priest is even better

I am Catholic and its exactly why I really do not care for the church in the least bit... I think it's completely rediculous that you have to take a test to spend the rest of your life with someone .... What do they think?? That the 50% of divorces in this country happen to those that did not get married in the church?!?!? Puleezeeee

They really kill me... I went to Catholic school all my life too... Maybe it's why I feel this way I totally believe in and pray to God, but when it come to the church.... they can go kiss my butt...

How dare they make my 09'ers nervous!!! Shame on them

I am sooo thankful FH & I have the same views on religion... I can have my beautiful outdoor ceremony like I always dreamed

I told them right off the bat that I booked the RH first and it's a good thing I did because the church wasn't going to book me until September

One of the questions that bothered me was:

Have you commited the

SIN
of having premarital sex? I almost fell on the floor so I told the priest I have because 7 years would have been a long time to wait and a girls got needs ha ha

He wasn't thrilled with the answer but he did tell me to be honest.

Re: I booked the chuch now some advice please...

i hope you don't mind me crashing...

i had major issues with my original church while trying to book my wedding. i wound up speaking to our local priest and he told us to come in right away for a meeting. He was amazing.
He asked all the questions in a way that we wouldnt have to lie in order to give the answer the Church wanted. It was wonderful. I left my original church in tears b/c i felt like an awful person b/c i refused to lie to a priest. and i left the new church smiling laughing and joking with the priest who i told the complete and honest truth to.
i did not feel judged for even one minute.

for all of you who are having issues or who are seriously uncomfortable with the questions the church asks, do not feel like you have to lie or compromise who you are. There are Catholic priests out there who know and follow the idea of 'let he without sin cast the first stone'
The ceremony is supposed to be the easy part of your planning!
Don't be afraid to shop around for a church. You may find yourself finding more comfort and renewing your faith instead of getting depressed and feeling rejected.

Good Luck to all of you!!!

Oh god... I can only imagine... I would been if I was thre with ya!!!

The thing is... church doesnt acknowledge the changing times... I knew 1 girl in HS that I graduated with that had never had sex, Even to get a 1st kiss out of her was a HUGE thing... I wouldnt be surprised if shes still a virgin... But girls like her... they are HARD to find... How do you expect people nowadays to get married without even seeing if they match sexually???

That is absolutely horrible that that was done to you with the 1st church!!! Def a good thing to shop around. You dont want to have any worries on your big day. You should feel 100% happy with the person that is responsible for marrying you

Oh yes they did ask me this and it's a question I will never forget...but it wasnt as bad as it seems I just didn't like the fact that he asked if I had sinned.

I guess every church asks different questions, I got the the church that gets personal
