I bought Paulos and Biruks bikes last night!

Paulos letters have said he wishes and dreams to ride a bike when he comes to America..so my plan was to take them into Target and let them pick out their bikes, but I keep talking to other parents who have just brought their children home and apparently I am not supposed to take the boys into stores like Target right away, no grocery stores, nothing like that..it overhwelms them and scares them and then they have melt downs and cry..its very sad..
but I am off that first week and want to teach them how to ride a bike..so I went ahead and picked out tehir bikes for them..so what Ill do is put them on the balcony with big bows, Ill keep the blinds closed..so when they first come home..Ill show them their room, their clothes, their toys, books, movies, etc and then Ill say I have one more suprise and Ill open up the blinds!!!! I know they will be very happy!!!
But I wanted to say thanks again because I used the Target gift certificate that many of you pitched in on and I cant say thank you enough...I am still amazed by the kindness and love you have shown me!!!! Thank you!!!! I will post the pictures of them with their bikes, that I was able to buy with your money..so THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Ive also bought their wakmans, as well as movies and books and still have money left over for jammies and clothes!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure they will LOVE LOVE LOVE the bikes... and they will be overwhelmed by what you have given them. Even if you had absolutely nothing in that apartment, they would be overwhelmed that you rescued them from their orphanages and are giving them an inexplicably better life!!

Ive never been this excited in my entire life!!! I have always wanted to be a mom, even when I was kid..when theyd ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up..Id say a mom..actually Id say 'I want to be nothing..just like my mom'..heehee
I cant believe that its just finally time..Ive been waiting since November..it may not seem long to anyone else,.but to me its felt like a lifetime!!!! Now its here...Im so glad I have the work week to make time go by...because I dont know what to do with myself as it is!!! Im just so excited!!!!!! I cry just THINKING about seeing them in the airport...I cant wait until its real!!!

I've been following your story and just wanted to wish you and the boys the best. I can't wait to see pictures of their homecoming!

I agree with not overwhelming them with stores just yet. My DH and his family moved here from Poland (when it was a Communist country with practically no food on the shelves) and my FIL said he actually broke down into tears the first time he went to a Supermarket here on LI. He said the deli overwhelmed him as well as the cereal aisle.

Take it easy and enjoy your time with your boys. I am sure they willl love you.

I forgot one thing, though, do they know each other? That will be another obstacle if they don't know each other.

It will all come together, though. And you will have such a great family.
