I Broke Down & spent more money &

Original post by Celest

.. Got a DOC.

I know. I am a type A personality & Soo thought there was no way I would need one. But my wedding ceremony is in the morning (guez 10:30 am which means I am up anyway at like 5am..ugh) & there is no way I can be in two places at once (make that three, church, reception hall & hotel for setups!).

So despite the fact that I can't imagine spending even more money & thinking that I should be able to handle everything myself. I thought against it & bite the bullet. I mean I would normally do everything myself but I have my own business & am going to be extra busy around the exact time of the wedding!

Please help me feel less bad about spending more money & not doing it all myself. I feel so guilty..

I think if you have your own business, the stress of having to do all of this day of stuff might be overwhelming. This stress will probably unhinge you a bit and interfere with your productivity and potentially your profit.

So, having a DOC could save you money

Right?

I think I'm doing this too! It's not too expensive and a DOC will be an amazingly huge help on your wedding day. This is how I justify it....FH spent way toooo much on a band (singing band) so if I want a DOC I should be allowed.

You are completely right. & now in my business is crunch time. I run a number of ventures & they can blow up if I am not on the ball.

BTW, you are a late poster.. I like that..lol

Well you have time. I thought I would be able to pull it off myself & with under 4 month almost left I knew I would be pushing it, So I thought of it this way. I already am spending a cr@pload that I shouldn't spend. & I would be super P.O'd if the day went wrong for all the money spent. So this is guaranteeing that someone is going to be working toward getting everything I already worked on in place & happen stress free. At least that is the plan. PLus with a morning wedding unless you have people that are super helpful that aren't in the wedding, I am not sure how we can set up in the am.

PLus I have a family of some late @ss people. at least someone else will keep them in line.

I think it is worth paying someone to deal with our families..

I'll try & fm you when I get home with the info,

This is what is says on Dazzling Affairs what they do:

* Available via email and phone anytime starting 3 months prior to the date of the event
* 2 in-person meetings starting 4 weeks prior to your wedding day
* Review all contracts and contact all vendors the week of the event
* Set up a “Day Of” timeline
* Coordinate all vendors based on final timeline decisions
* First vendor to arrive to make sure that all other vendors are ready to go on time
* Receiving deliveries and greeting vendors on wedding day
* Lining up and cueing the wedding party when it is time to walk down the aisle
* Gathering family members/wedding party for photographs
* Ensuring proper placement of wedding favors
* Wedding programs, wedding bubbles, exit petals, disposable cameras, etc.
* Work closely with Maitre-d’ and bridal attendant
* Making sure that band, dj and mc play all songs requested
* Guiding you graciously through your day
* Keeping track of specialty items and then packing everything up
* Distributing gratuities or final payments to all vendors
* Arranging transportation for you at the end of the event
* Ensure vendors provide services as requested
* Wedding Emergency Kits - if a need arises, we probably have the solution in one of our kits; we come prepared with everything but the kitchen sink!
