I broke up with - update and guilt

I broke up with - update and guilt

a DOC planner

Some of you remember I was trying to decide btwn 2 vendors last week.
1- pricey but perfect

2-affordable but went to the wrong place for our 1st appt (15 min late). Couldnt meet to SIGN a CONTRACT because of a flat tire. I would have picked her up OR we live close enough for a cheap cab.

I kindly declined to work with her just now. Feel guilty but relieved. Looking into NEW AND AMAZINGLY Professional Options!

Just wanted to share
************************************
Vendor just told me that I was rude (in so many words) for making them wait 6 weeks before saying yes to the contract. And that I should research before making a decision. If she had another person that was looking into the date then she could have taken it and I would have missed out. Those 6 wks I was looking into the vendor and options. Also I work VERY long hours with a long commute. Is this wrong?

6 weeks is a pretty long time to put off signing or giving up a contract so i see where they're coming from, sorry...

Thank you for being honest. I didn't tell her that she couldn't sign on with another client though. She can let me know that she would not be available. My video guy told me that in our inital meeting

wait you SIGNED the contract and they told you you were rude?

i agree that six weeks is very long, but they could have given you a deadline if they had another customer. i've been told that another client was interested in my date so i had to make a decision.

No I didn't sign the contract. I was looking into another DOC and firming up some of my vendors. Plus work deadlines were crazy for a big project. I was not given a time frame for the contract signing nor if there was someone else looking into the date. She followed up with me and I told her that I was not ready to make a decision in between this time and I would like references which was provided.

ummm i actually think the vendor was rude in the situation. I mean yes 6 weeks might be a long time, but you have every right to take ur time and make a decision. You wouldve just had to understand if someone else came along and booked on your date since you took that time, but I think its rude that she makes u feel guilty about waiting

I agree. That's the nature of the business, brides take their time and shop around for the right price with everything. If it takes 6 days or 6 weeks they shouldn't make you feel bad. That's just rude and unprofessional.

I think that vendor was waaay out of line!! Six weeks is a long time, but it's your right to take that time to make a decision!

yes thats true however, if they had another client, im sure they would've been pressing you for an answer and if someone else was looking into the same date i doubt they would have turned them away without a signed contract from you... theyre just pissed cuz you didnt go with them and they thought it was in the bag, you do whats best its your money and your decision

I agree with this...also, having recently had a flat tire, I understand that situation...there's no way I would have abandoned my car on the side of the road to make it to a contract signing...I absolutely would have rescheduled.

Sorry, JMO.

I don't think you did anything wrong at all. It's not like you told her she couldn't book someone else.
