So the dress situation is SORTA solved. the dress shop, that wasn't supposed to order the dress, ordered it without my say so and kept 40% of my deposit, or $1400 bucks. I at least want a credit from the store or the material that costed that much money or SOMETHING because right now I feel like I just spent that much money on pure aggravation. NOW...I can finally tell you that the people at Kleinfeld are the biggest bunch of money hungry liars I have ever had the misfortune of meeting. They were pushy from the first day, and when I told them I wouldn't be ordering the dress and to cancel it, they put the order in anyway and strung us along for such a long time that we couldn't even dispute the charge with the credit card company, they have caused me so much stress and heartache....if anyone has not gotten their wedding gown yet, do yourself a favor and don't believe all of the wonderful things you hear about Kleinfeld, After all was said and done and they decided to keep my money the owner of the store had the gaul to tell me to come back when I was ready and he would give me a good deal... A GOOD DEAL?!?!?!?!? GIVE ME MY 1400 BUCKS!!!!!! All of the managers that said they would help me, they were on my side, not out to get me were just that, my next call is to arnold diaz on channel 5 because if nothing else, I want to save people from going through what I had to go through. How could you as a business go behind the back of the customer and put in an order, then string me along, oh we have to call israel and this and that, and NEVER tell me why until almost a month and a half later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Talk about misleading!!!!.....sorry about the rant ladies, but do yourselves a favor and stay far away from Kleinfeld! Posted an update below

Re: I can finally break my silence
I know a lot of people love them, but my experience was terrible. The woman locked me in a room and brought me dresses and didn't really listen to what I had to say about my difficult body type and how dresses fit me. I have been buying dresses my whole life, I know more about my body then she does. My mom felt they were rude and I felt the whole beautiful store is a set for the people who go on the show only. Anyone else doesn't get to set foot in the beautiful room, except to walk quickly through it. They were also really rude when we didn't buy a dress from them, but there was only one that impressed me at all and it was twice the price of when I saw the same dress out here, plus $600 flat for alterations, thats ridiculous. Compared to Pronovias, where I got my dress, and where they waited on you hand and foot and listened to everything we said, and do not charge for alterations at all... I feel that at Kleinfelds they treated us like dirt. But I have heard so many good things about them I though maybe it was just my experience. Glad to hear its not just me.

Re: I can finally break my silence
I'm a Kleinfeld bride and I have to say that I think it depends on who yuor consultant is. My first consultant was not what I had hoped for - not really attentive, however I noticed that other brides were having a good experience so I thought that it was just my consultant.
Unfortunately, my designer only sells their dresses at Kleinfelds, so I had no choice - however when i made my second appt. I made it clear that I did not like my consultant and I wanted a new one. They were completely understanding and when I went back, they were more than accomodating.
I'm sorry you had a horrible experience - it seems like your consultant or others involved misunderstood your intent and didn't care to listen to you. Hopefully the Bridal Salon of Manhasset or another salon can help you -and btw, the Manhasset salon was outstanding!

Re: I can finally break my silence
This is horrible! How unprofessional of them to not listen to you! I would certainly do everything in my power to get that money back! You wouldn't want to use that money towards another dress there, right? I mean, you are so fed up and I don't blame you.
Awww, I really hope this works out in the long run. 1400 is too much money to be lost.

Re: I can finally break my silence
I agree with you, they're rude and I wouldn't buy a dress there. I went today, once I said my budget, I tried on 4 or so dresses and she wouldn't bring me more even though I asked 3 times.
She then told me the $3,500 dress I had on was 'a steal' even though it was at the high end of my budget and told me to try on other stuff at my OTHER APPOINTMENTS. LOL, REALLY?!
Get 7 on your side!!!!!!!

Re: I can finally break my silence
I'm a Kleinfeld's bride, and i've definitely read the good and the bad. I think i'm missing the first part of this story, so could you please elaborate or link to the beginning? Also, are they offering you a new dress? What's the resolution?
I guess my questions above would answer more details, but did you sign a contract? I think you usually only have 3 days to cancel per the contract. In any case, i hope it's over soon and you're able to move on to something else. I really want to hear more!

Re: I can finally break my silence
oh crapp!!! I know the economy is bad but what is 1400.00 to Kleinfelds, they should give you your $$$ back and at least keep the customer happy.
Sorry this had to happen to you....try to get your money anyway you can....money is money...why should you lose out. Press and cameras work....they can't afford bad publicity over 1400.00 they wll be foolish
hang in there girl.

Re: I can finally break my silence...update.....
Just to elaborate a little bit, When I originally went and ordered the dress, there was a note on the contract that said not to order the dress until they got the okay from me, in writing and I canceled before that, no offer for a new dress, and they NEVER told us what that $1400 was going to.....we're calling tomorrow...tuesday as they're closed tomorrow, because for that money I want fabric or WHATEVER they did to warrant keeping that money, they haven't heard the last from me, but as someone already said, one unhappy bride tells many many others, and my consultant was very nice, she was so sweet, I can't say anything bad about her, it's management, upper management, always passing the buck, oh, I have to talk to this one or that one and I'll get back to you, they strung me along for so many weeks that it was moot with our credit card company and we were on our own. I swear, people are right, they hurry you through the big room and lock you in a dressing room if you aren't going to be on the show, I guess if you aren't THEIR idea of a perfect bride you don't matter to them, however since your money is as green as anyone elses, they don't mind taking it from you and never telling you why!!!!!!!
