I can use some help (repost from 06)

Hey girls
I wanna secure my ceremony and CT hr music this week so I have narrowed the field down to 3 companies. with each I am getting piano and flute for ceremony and a jazz trio for CT hr. Here are the choices and their prices:

1. Soul Revival- $750
2. Skyline- $850
3. Marc Topaz- $700

Now the only one i have heard of is Skyline but Soul Rev. was a rec from a LIW bride. Marc Topaz is the least amt. AHHHH what do i do???

Choose the least amount if they are good.

I have been to alot of shows...and Skyline is the best. If I didnt book a DJ I would have gone with them.

Go for it & Good luck!

Yeah my gut is saying go w/ them bc i know they have an awesome reputation but i think $850 is kind of high

Can you negotiate Skyline down in price? Tell them that the only thing stopping you from using them is the price, since you can get music for $100 less.

We had Skyline for our band and they were AMAZING. They were the single thing our guests raved about most.

There is a difference between the whole band and a trio. Are they going to be the same musicians that play as the whole band? Go hear them or get a tape to listen.

No Im having a dj at the wedding. I know that the trio is way diff from the whole band and even a band showcase wont help. But i think their reputation alone should be good right?

I am using Soul Revival for my wedding (cocktail, ceremony and reception) and I am having them play a jazz trio for cocktail too. I know it's a big decision, but if it makes you feel any better, I saw them at a friends wedding last summer and LOVED them. My cousin has also hired them to play her wedding in Boston, b/c she saw them at another friends wedding. Just go with you gut, I don't necesssarily think you should go just based on price, cheap or expensive. I don't know the other 2 you are deciding between but I do know I am excited about Soul Revival. I hope this helps
