I cannot stand- VERY LONG VENT

my FSIL!!! Actually, I don't even know if that is what she is...she is my FBIL's wife. she is a rolling horror for so many reasons, but I am at the point where everthing she does annoys me.

they are having a communion party for FH's oldest niece (who I absolutely adore) which is fine-but they have money yet they insist on making FH pay for stuff...he is in charge of buying all of the drinks....she knows we are getting married obviously and paying for everything ourselves- not even that, but the party is for TWO little girls...Samantha AND her cousin on FSIL's side..that means 2 families....

gggggrrrrrr I just really really dislike her immensely....this will always be a shadow on our lives! She really makes my blood boil.

Ever since we have been together she has gone out of her way to make me feel uncomfortable and basically unwelcome. We have had a few encounters here and there, but for the most part I try to remain quiet out of respect for the family (and b/c 'technically' I am not a part of it yet) but I just can't do it anymore.

FH and I were taking time late last year to take stock of our lives and to make sure we were really heading in the direction we wanted to. In that time, he was turning 30. FSIL planned his party...and invited a bunch of her single friends over...at one point he was in a room with me and some friends talking and all of those chics started calling his name...my back was to FSIL but she said to FH 'the girls are calling you..take advantage while you can'....

it took the power of God to keep from from kicking the crap out of her...but I held my composure b/c I am sure THAT was the response she wanted....however I will never be able to see past her nasty self...

very difficult situation...sorry to bother you all...I just had to vent before I explode!

I feel for you...but I don't get why your FH HAS to pay for the drinks since they are the ones hosting???? Did he offer? That is very tacky and tasteless for her to 'make' your FH pay for all the drinks without asking him...

If there is one thing that gets me going its people with money who impose on others who have less to cover expenses for them...

the funny thing is FBIL is so cool and nice...I just don't know how he ended up with her. the good thing is everyone knows she's like that....(and they all love me ) FH's sister says that's why she acts that way towards me...b/c she is jealous...I say whatever

they do that ALL the time...and FH isn't even her Godfather, which would be more understandable...

they got child care FOR FREE (fh's mom. who is probably too tired to take care of my kid when I have one) and all of these other breaks...really pisses me off since WE will have to struggle!

I don't understand why it is your FH's responisbiity to pay for something for their party???
Are they responsible for paying for something for your wedding?
Talk to FH and tell him your feelings!

I told FH I was annoyed about the whole thing...he said he forgot that the party was for the other girl too, but that this could be our gift to them.... he does these things because he loves his nieces...he doesn't think enough about stuff to realize WE are getting the short end, until I step back and point it out.

FH gets put in a hard place between us all the time- no one knows what her problem is, and although generally FH trys to avoid confrontation- he has talked to her about me on occassion. Basically she doesn't care...

Things will definitely change after the wedding...she will realize that things will go through me (she has control issues- she was used to my FH going to her for things, so through the years she has been increasingly resentful of the role I play in his life, IMO)

but it's been 10 years plus with no change or improvement...in fact, things have only gotten worse. Eventually they will hit a boiling point, which will not be pretty but it will be necessary.

I hear ya I have my brothers FW who I truly cant stand, everything she does irritates me, there are so many words I could use to describe her but I'd probably get kicked off LIW However they are acurate and then there is my FBIL and his miserable wife, I could probably use the same words for both of them but know matter how you look at it they will always be there and there truly is nothing you can do to get rid of them. So as my father used to tell me, 'Kill them with kindness', people like that wouldnt know what to do with it and it would irritate them to know end so that's what I plan to do. Besides that ignore the fact that your related to them unless you have no choice

Ugh, sounds like she's a real biotch and your FH is just way too nice! I can't beleive he's paying for 2 families drinks, that's tough even if you weren't paying for a wedding. As for his 30th, there is absolutely no way she would've gotten away with that, you're a much better person than I. Talk to your FBIL and see if he can offer any help. Such a shame that he's nice, I never got why such nice guys always end up with these witches. Grrr, I'm getting so mad just thinking about this! I know you want to be the bigger person but sometimes it's just time to start fighting fire with fire!

I agree with Thumballina, I would definitely introduced her to my fist. It sounds like jealousy to me. Best of luck dealing with her, people like her very rarely change, so were here for you when ever you need to vent.
