I don't think this is a gay issue at all - he was just coming clean in preparation of things to come.

His lover is filing a lawsuit after trying to black mail McGreevy for millions of dollars. Instead of giving into that, McGreevy reported it to the FBI. This was surely going to hit the headlines at some point.

He abused his power as governor by giving his lover high level (in both pay and security) positions because of the relationship, not experience.

I know I'm probably in the minority here but I don't see how being gay is in opposition to promoting family values .

i agree with you, you could still promote family values and be gay, BUT, when he's spent all this time portraying himself as straight to the public, that's where the problem lies

i think he spent all this time saying he was GAY because of people in the country WHO dont like gays.......WOULD YOU EVER SAY YOU WERE GAY ..........oh lets see back in 1975 say or before........it was only 1972 when we were able to marry black and white in the us with out being under the spotlight........i dont see why he left office, i think it makes him look woorse, just what i feel
