I just got a phone call from a friend who I haven't spoken to in at least a year!!She knew I was getting married and asked me when. when I told her she said well I better be getting an invitation (in a joking way) I told her we were having a very small wedding and could not include everyone. She said well you should think about the firends that have been with you from the very beginning and that is how you cut your list. I hardly speak to this person anymore. Maybe once or twice a year for the last five yeras. Am I wrong??
I just can't believe people would sya they are exepcting an invite!!

Yeah, I have a few that have done that.
I've had to cut people that I see a lot, I can't invite people that I haven't seen in 3 years.

I can see her getting an invite and then NEVER responding or showing up!! Don't even bother with the invite if you feel you would rather not have her there.

I think you handled it fine- that is just what I would have said. Is she the kind of friend you can live without? Obviously so if you only talk to her once or twice a year. As the other posters have said, it is your wedding, you should be surrounded with people that truly care for you and are a big part of your life right now.

You are not wrong nor should you feel guilty about not inviting her. She should feel bad for putting you on the stop. Stand firm to the limits you have set. It's your wedding!!
