I can't decide on a date.....

Re: I can't decide on a date.....

I said October because the weather would be cooler and better for pictures. If you can't get off then or it would be less stressful to do it in August, it may not be too bad considering that you are looking at a Sunday Night wedding.
What time would you be taking pictures, the afternoon?

Church is at 3:30

Cocktails either at 6 or 6:30

You are taking your pictures between the church and cocktail hour? or during the cocktail hour? or before?

I prefer the weather in early October. (My date is Oct. 3) I have a question for you- Since you're a teacher- When do you want to take your honeymoon? If you get married in Oct. you will probably have to put it off until you have a scheduled vacation. (My dad is a teacher. He is taking a day or two off, but I don't think that he can do any more than that.) I voted for August for that reason. Personally, it was important to me to go right on the HM after the wedding. However, if you don't mind putting it off or you can swing it, go with October. The weather is beautiful.

i am a teacher also and i am getting married in october. i decided that i would be miserable in the heat, as much as i love the summer. if it is hot and humid i would just want to be in the water. i chose october because it is my favorite time of year. we aren't going on a honey moon right away, but i will take a few days. i know people who have taken honey moons and it has worked out fine for them...good luck!

We are planning on taking our honeymoon right away. I want to try and take 6 days off of work- 4 will already be off for holidays within those 2 weeks so i will have a total of 2 weeks off

I think August is better - still have daylight savings time and therefore no rush for outdoor pictures. I think August is the most beautiful month for flowers and gardens.

October 2 is before daylight savings time ends. You could sheck te exact time of the sunset if it is important to you.

I'm getting married this year on October 9, and the sunset is anbout 6:15.

It seems like you are leaning more towards October, so I say go for it!

Since the Carlyle is ina park, so the foliage will probably be nice in the fall.

Im a teacher and Im getting married in December. I always wanted a Christmas wedding....so thats what Im doing. I have to take a few days off from work. My principal was kind enough to give me the week off after the wedding so we could go on our HM right away. I also hate the heat. The summer wouldn't have been for me. Do what makes you happy.

I am getting married Aug 15th this year (Sunday night). I felt that a Sunday in the summer was easier for people travelling from OOT since kids are out of school. Also for people who might want to make a long weekend out of it...taking a Monday in the summer might be better. I am going to suffer through the heat knowing that my church and reception site are A/C so we can take a good majority of pics there.

I chose 10/2 but I am partial to Oct because of my date. I didnt want a summer wedding because one of my fears and I have heard these stories is suppose the ac isnt working properly or the gown you choose is too hot. I love the summer just not for a formal affair. JMO.

Even though the fall is so beautiful, I decided to go with August. It is still beautiful and I can realz and enjoy myself more before and after the wedding...

i'm a teacher and was married in august of last year so that's what i voted for. i did SO much for the wedding in july without too much pressure and although it was hot, it was certainly bearable.

eta: i just saw your reply above -- you'll be happy with your decision!
