I can't even imagine

As if things haven't been crazy and busy enough around here as it is... I'm counting down 5 weeks until my mid-tour leave and I can go home and see FH again (for those who dont' know I'm deployed for a year tour).

One of the other women here (there are only 3 female officers) went home for a week break and got back yesterday. She then found out last night, that after she left her husband killed himself. So we got her on back on the same plane she came in on to bring her back home this morning.

She has a 3 year old daughter who was at the neighbors house at the time, but this woman is supposed to be stationed here until September.

I immediately started missing FH like crazy, and am so thankful that I'm going home for a break so soon and i'll be out of here for good come June, but I don't even know how to handle the news...

I am sorry to hear that awful sad news... She is very lucky to have you as a friend during this hard time.

That is horrible. Makes you really appreciate what you have. So happy you are going to be able to see FH so soon

WOW! that's horrible. Hang in there girl. The next couple of months will go flying. June will be here b/f we know it. You friend is lucky to have you as a friend. She will really need you right now. So sad. When I get home Im going to hug FH tight b/c it's things like this that makes you appreciate what you have more.

That's really tough. Have you had a chance to talk to your FH? I always miss mine more when bad things happen.

I agree... I don't talk to him for another few hours but I have been wanting to hear his voice since this morning.

Being in a lifestyle where you're separated so much you immediately relate to all other families even if their situation is nothing like yours because everything is tougher and more unexpected.

WOW! This is such sad news. I'm so glad you will be seeing your FH soon.

My FH and I were apart for 2 years. He was in Med School in Grenada, so I know how tough it is to be apart from someone for a long period of time. Keep busy and it will help the time go faster.

i'm so sorry for her and her family....it must've been extra difficult for her being away from him for so long, and then having this happen right after R&R

Things like this really put life into perspective. This breaks my heart for your friend and the little girl.

I hope the next few weeks go super quick for you so you can give FH a big hug!!

Thanks girls. I just talked to FH, and I hardly got through the first two sentances and i started crying. I think he was super surprised (i'm a big crybaby anyway) but because I'm not that great of friends with the girl, and I obviously don't know her family but I just feel sad besides feeling bad for her.

I was told that we're probably not going to have her come back here, which is really for the best. One of the girls who was stationed here escorted her back home today, I think everyone is still in shock.

Wow! I can't even imagine how that girl is feeling. That story is just terrible. It really breaks my heart.

Wow, that is horrible. My heart breaks for that woman and her child, and especially her husband who felt so desperate he took his own life. I am so sorry- I pray this time goes quick for you!
