Ok so last night FH and I were talking about wedding stuff and all of a sudden he springs something on me. He waited two weeks to tell me that his mother reports that his sisters (the poor dears) are upset because they were not asked to be in the bridal party. Well guess what, MY two sisters weren't asked either. Neither was my sister in law. Why? Because I do not want an entourage. I will be a 35 year old anti-bride. I don't like cutsey bridal things, I do not like ANYTHING white with the exception of my dress (which is pearl). There will NOT be one white flower at my wedding. I just don't like them - NOT my style. I don't want a trail of a mile-long bridal party either.
So here I am flipping out that he withheld this information from me. He held onto it for two weeks. Oh well! Now it is no longer my problem. I do not think that ANYONE should dictate who stands next to me on my wedding day. My sisters and sister in law are relieved not to be in the bridal party and frankly do not want to wear bridesmaid dresses. But I will not ask his sisters or anyone else to be in the bridal party two months after I asked everyone else. I certainly would not accept that offer. He then says that he is upset that no one from his family is in the bridal party. NOW? After all this time? My nieces and nephews are in it but they are young children. He decides to tell me this 2 months after our engagement. Before we were engaged, we discussed, at length that we weren't having siblings - too many pots spoil the broth. He even told one of his sisters BEFORE we were engaged that that was the plan and she was fine with it.
All of a sudden its an issue? Too bad. It seems as if I can't make ONE decision without checking it out with everyone else. So maybe I am a little bridezilla-ish on this one but too bad. I decide who stands next to me. No one else. If they don't like it they will have to learn to deal.

Babes...you're not going to make EVERYONE happy! As long as you're happy with the choices that you've made, thats the most important thing!

FH and I talked again tonight and agreed that his sisters are just going to have to deal with it. I think one of them, the youngest is a major attention seeker. I knew from day one that she would not like the fact that for one family gathering, the spotlight will not be on her. It will be on US. Poor dear. I am the younegst in my family too and I would just as soon NOT have the spotlight. the last time I had that much attention was 22 years ago at my Bat Mitzvah and even then, as a teenager, I was uncomfy with it.

I feel for you because I have had so many people giving me their opinion about everything that I just want to scream and tell people to 'shut up'. I'm usually not like that but it seems like everyone has an opinion and they all think they must share them.
You are 100% right that it is your day and you shouldn't have to have anyone in the bridal party that you don't want. Don't feel guilty and I don't think you are being a bridezilla!
