Re: Showers. Who has been to or has had/will have assigned seating? I was making menus, putting each guest's name on the front, but I don't want to offend anyone, making them sit where they don't want. It's just that I tried some other ideas, for the front of my DIY menus, and the name one looked nice. Thanks!!!! Mary MOB

I've never been to a shower that had assigned seating, but I do think it would simplify things quite a bit, especially of there are many people invited.

Every shower I have ever been to has had assigned seating except for one and let me tell you..the one that didn't have assigned seating was a disaster.

I think it is much easier if you just assign the seats and put people with who you know they would want to be with.

Thanks, Jen!!! My other Daughter seemed to frown on the assigned seating. Although, I do plan to have Donna and her BM's at a head table. I could put their names on but leave the rest blank, but I really thought the blank space needed something. Suggestions? Mary MOB

ive never been to one with assigned seating... everyone finds a spot... why bother... those who dont know one another can now get a chance to lol

How about you do your side and have FSIL do the other side.

As for the empty space on the menu...how about a picture of Donna and FH?

Never been to shower without assigned seats and I couldnt imagine it b.c I know in my family that would cause fights(all the old people/grannys would want to be in the front to see the gifts etc)

The only shower I've been to was my sister's, and there was assigned seating, and believe you me it was a situation that warranted that, and I think it made things so much more comfortable. Personally, I like the idea of table numbers and assigned seating.

Im having assigned seating at mine too. I know it doesnt matter but its also nice when you know your gonna be able to sit with someone you know and not alone. I mean its not a problem to get to know other people but if all your friends are at one table and your alone cause you got there a little late and all the seats were taken it might be a bit uncomfortable! just my opinion
