Re: I did my civic duty, did you?
I would THINK that 11 would be a good time to go because a lot of people will be at work. I think a lot of people probably were there before to go before work. Good luck and I wish you a short wait

i went before work, at about 7 am and the 'volunteers' have no idea what they are doing. i live in the most disorganized town, i don't even know if my vote is going to count.

Yeah, but I would assume more people have to work than not. Even the teachers who have 'off' have conferences. Things like that. And if not, I was just trying to think postitive!
Good luck with the lines anyway

That's terrible! But I did get yelled at, or about, at least. The old pepple who had my information were really nasty about my party affiliation. They don't like my kind in senior villages

I'll be voting after class today - I'm hoping it won't be too bad around 3 - Then again, this might be the only polling place in my town

I voted at 7:00 am. The line was already out the door but the poll workers were well organized and the line moved quickly. I only saw one person have to use a provisional ballot because she wasn't on the voter roll.

Re: I did my civic duty, did you?
i hear ya. see its like this, i live in south hempstead. where, you say. its bewteen baldwin and rockville centre. its is about 10 blocks long and there are not that many people that live there. and there were 3 tables there for the 10 people that live in my town. and the seniors, don't get me started. all i heard was, 'we don't have you hear, go to the nest table.' i was happy to get out of that place.

Gotta love them old folks!I was happy to see, though, that there were a lot of high school seniors there to vote before they went to school. Made me all warm and fuzzy on the inside.....ok, not really, but I was happy to see it

Yay! I feel like we should have a special badge that we can get when we're done voting, like a star sticker
Oh boy, I'm a little kooky this morning, ignore me

DH and I are going after work tonight. we weren't sure how long the lines would be and didn't want to be late for work. Besides, we are not morning people and I would be too cranky to deal with any problems.

I'm so happy to hear that many high school kids were there before school (I know I wouldn't have been)
DH and I will go after work-6:00 AM was just a smidge too early for me. I know there are a lot of seniors around our area - they probably all went or will go this morning, right? I'm hoping there won't be too long of a line.

No way ... my boss was 'so proud' that I voted already. He kept thanking me ... meanwhile I know for a fact we voted for different people! LOL.
