I did something wrong for the right reasons, I thought. Need hugs (FH update, page 2)

I have been having some terrible health problems. The doctors are baffled and I spend most of my days off either in the hospital or at a specialist. I was upfront with FH about everything, until leukemia was brought up. It was a remote possiblity, so I wanted to shield him from it. (A good friend of his died in High school from leukemia) I didn't want him to worry over a remote possibility.

Thankfully, it isn't leukemia, although they still don't know what it is. I sat FH down and told him everything. He is completely hurt. I was trying to shield him from the worry, yet I hurt him. I was trying to do good, but I made the wrong decision. I need hugs.

Me too. Sorry you are going through this. How long have you kept it from him? I'm sure in time he will be able to get over the fact that you held it from him and will see that your intentions were in his best interest.

I kept it from him until the tests were over. About 2 weeks.

Sweetie, I'd have done the same thing. I would think you were wrong ONLY if you KNEW YOU DID have leukemia, and purposely kept it from him. But there is nothing wrong with trying to protect your man from worrying if there isn't anything for sure to worry about yet. We're all here for ya, and if you need to talk or vent, you can FM me anytime. Feel better, and I'm praying that your health improves. Seriously, go get your man, sit on his lap & let him know that you meant well & then you two should hug for like an hour! Maybe he was just freaked out that the word Lukemia came up. Something like that can take anyone by surprise. Hang in there!

I think you did what you thought was the right thing. We don't want to hurt the ones we love.

I would have done the same thing! He just needs time to deal with it and to process the whole thing. I hope you get better real soon!!!
