I do not see the appeal of

Toby McGuire. He almost ruins all Spiderman movies for me cause I find him so icky for some reason. Plus he seems like a total tool in real life.

Just a random thought of the day.

I don't get it either.

He didn't bother me too much until DH made me watch Seabiscuit and I realized what a tiny little piece of man he was....um...

I actually like him as Spider-Man because he fits the role perfectly, but I met him in real life and he is itty-bitty. He seemed nice, but a bit distant....

I was actually standing 2 feet away from him at the Mirage in Vegas. He was short- chubby & very scrubby looking. Not very appealing to the eyes at all. I wasn't going to even ask him for an autograph because I heard he was an arrogant ba$tard.

It's not that he's a good Spider-Man but he's a good Peter Parker. Then when he puts the suit on, yea he does a pretty good job with that too!!

Remember, Spider-Man is supposed to be just an average guy. They couldn't cast anyone who was too muscular or someone who was already a 'teen hearthrob', they had to get someone kind of 'off the beaten path'.

Btw, don't be surprised if you see a response from my better half on this thread!!

Oh yes--I ran into him at the Rio in Vegas this past Summer and I couldn't believe how little he was...and I'm short! He is a bit arrogant though--FH has sat at some poker tables with him. I didn't ask him for an autograph either--very, very plain looking...nothing spectacular.

Your honor, I call my first witness:

SUPERMAN.

He's always insanely charming and good looking...and still plays dorky Clark Kent.

Defense rests.

This is EXACTLY why he makes a good Spider-Man/Peter Parker!!

Sorry, we're big fans of Spidey!!

I agree that he's the perfect Spider-Man...not disputing it. Don't really see anyone else playing Spidey, so I am a bit sad that there are lots of talk of replacing him.

I have to agree with Cindy, as much as I don't like the actor myself, but the director needs to follow the story line for the main character's personality type, etc to fit the mold of who spiderman is.
