I do not see the appeal of

Original post by SuzBride

Toby McGuire. He almost ruins all Spiderman movies for me cause I find him so icky for some reason. Plus he seems like a total tool in real life.

Just a random thought of the day.

Re: I do not see the appeal of

Clark Kent/Superman has had his super powers since coming to earth as an infant. He has grown up knowing he was 'super human'. Clark 'acts' at being dorky. Where as Peter Parker/Spider-Man came upon his powers by accident. He is a brillient scientist and very nerdy as Peter. When he is spidey he is much more coky and confident.

Tobey is a tool but he is the perfect Peter parker.

99% of Spidey is CGI.

I am just bitter cause Jake G was originally a contender for the role. I would love Spiderman INFINITELY more if his hotness was in there.

I understand Suz, I really do. But it just wouldn't be true to the character and so many Marvel comic fans would be PISSED!!!!!!!! The movies just wouldn't have done as well and they'd end up recasting anyway.

Peter is not supposed to be Hot

Jake G in Bubble Boy. Hottness Factor = 0. Thus compatible with Spiderman dorkiness need

I am hearing rumblings about a Spider-Man 4, but they are not quite sure if Tobey would be able to do it because of all his injuries and they are seriously contemplating replacing him....and Jake Gyllenhaal's name has been thrown around.

I love Jake Gyllenhaal, but I don't see him as Spidey either I think he's way too hot to be Spider-Man, but I hear he does want to do a superhero movie so we'll see....

I hate when they replace people. I would only have wanted JG from the start, now it HAS to be Tobey.

Hate to admit it, but I found him strangely cute in that dorky, innocent way in this movie

Toby McGuire looks like the kid in kindergarten who drank too much milk that it came out his nose.

I agree - changing actors for such a pivital character changes the flow of a movie too much.

On a side tangent - so glad this didn't happen for Harry Potter, only 1 guy can play Harry!

OMG! I completely agree! Michael Keatin was the best one by far! But that totally killed those series with so many different leading men!

Christian Bale is an excellent Batman replacement--he fits the Bruce Wayne role perfectly. I've had a crush for so long...was wondering when everyone was gonna catch up
