So, I was calling all of my appointments for tomorrow to reschedule.

Finally, I get in touch with the guy who as an 8 am appointment. I tell him that I'm not coming in tomorrow and we need to reschedule.

So, he says, 'Well, I can't get in touch with the guy who approves the appointments. So, we'll still be expecting you here tomorrow at 8 am.'

So, I said, 'ummmm...but, I'm not coming in tomorrow.'

So, he says, 'oh, so your entire company won't be working tomorrow?'

I said, 'well, me and the people who do my job will not be in the city tomorrow.'

He says, 'Why?'

I say, 'because we're supposed to get 8-12 inches of snow and it's not safe for us to be walking around. So, I will not be coming to work tomorrow.'

So, he says, 'Well, we're still going to be expecting you. Call me tomorrow morning on my cell if you're not going to show up.'

So, I just said, 'okay....sure.'

How do people get by in the world when they cannot even bother to LISTEN !!???!!!

I know, right!?

I said several times, 'I AM NOT COMING INTO THE CITY TOMORROW'

This is how I feel with some of my students sometimes!!!

Student 1: Is this on the test?

Me: Yes.

Student 2: Ooh, ooh, I have a question.

Me: what is your question?

Student 2: Is this on the test?

Me: like I said to student 1, yes. Everything I ever say, ever, will be on the test.

[10 second pause... I try to go on to whatever the lesson is...]

Student 1: Is this on the test?

aaaaaaaaaaaa

People are SOOOOO unbelieveable... and it starts when they are very young. Now, I just say, I just answered it, and refuse to answer! Then maybe they will learn!

ohhh, yeah! finally, i say 'i'm only saying this once, so if you aren't listening, tough!' b/c i will repeat the same thing 38 times...once for each kid and then a couple more times for those who forget! i try to teach them the listening is a skill...guess they learn from their parents who hear what they want to hear...ala suven's lovely person!

YES, I called him this morning.

I said, 'Good Morning, Bill. This is Susan From SUCKYCOMPANY...I will not be able to make it this morning. Unfortunately, I can't even make it to my mailbox.'

He said, 'Hi Susan. I know you cancelled yesterday, but thanks for calling. How much snow did you get? I barely got any.'

I said, 'Wow, I got a lot. So, when do you want to move our appointment to?'

I gave him 2 alternate dates for our appointment and he's going to call me back.


...OH THANK YOU...I could have slept in if I didn't have to call YOU!
