I don't even know how to handle this one... UPDATE!

So FMIL calls me today with a list of my friends who still haven't RSVP'd to my shower to see if I can call them up to find out if they are coming. This is fine, I don't mind calling at all, plus my shower isn't a suprise so it doesn't matter. It's what she tells me next that shocks the hell out of me...

One of my sorority sisters, who was not invited to the shower or the wedding, has RSVP'd that she was coming to my shower. FMIL was confused because she wasn't on the shower list. I was like ummm she wasn't invited.

What do you do?? I don't even know how this girl got an invitation!!! I'm not even that close to her, I barely talk to her!! I don't even have her cell phone number to tell her over the phone that she's not invited!!

So I decided to send her a message over AIM, since that's really the only way I have of contacting her to tell her that she's not invited. I told her that I'm sorry but Dan and I could not invite everyone. (I put it in a nice way).

Update: So the girl got back to me, and said that one of my other friends must have gotten confused and RSVP'd for her because she told her that she'd help her get me a present... it still doesn't make much sense to me, but ok...

People have some balls!!!

Can you ask another sorority sister or a BM to call her and make it clear?

um... that is so odd! did you invite any other sorority sisters that she might be close to? perhaps she heard about your wedding from them and just assumed since you are sorority sisters that she would be invited also? although that is a silly assumption!

I didn't get her reaction yet. That's why I wish I had her phone number, I had to do it over AIM, and she has an away message up. And the thing is that no one that I know has her cell number either. The whole situation is just very odd!

if it doesn't make sense it means that there is a lie in there somewhere but that's not your concern, I think you handled the situation really well
