So my dress came in and I tried it on again with my bm's and mom in April-ish... and I loved the way it looked on me, I lost weight and it fit great.
However, I was just scrolling through some pictures that I've collected for the wedding (ideas and inspiration) and I found the pictures my mom took of me at Macys with the dress on and I look terrible.
Maybe its just that I don't like seeing myself in photos, but I don't get that I can like the way I looked in the mirror, but the photos make everything look different.
I attached the best looking one... I'm not fishing for compliments I'm just worried that I'm going to hate the wedding photos, but I don't want to find another dress! Am I being crazy?
Okay a few things. First off, I am assuming your mom is not a professional photographer? That's part of the problem. Also, the pic itself is grainy and kind of dark, so you miss some of the beading detail. Third, you are standing at a weird angle won't be photographed in on the day of. Last, you don't have your hair and makeup done professionally. All of that have nothing to do with how gorgeous your dress is or how great it will look on the day of. When you are in the store, you can see more of the detail, appreciate the fabric, etc. All stuff you can't do from this particular photograph. You look gorgeous!

Me personally, I hate myself in pics. All I do is critique everything. My butt is too big, the dress is too tight, i hate my face bla bla bla
If you loved it in person don't 2nd guess yourself!

I know EXACTLY how you feel. it's hard because you're so happy at the salon when you're in the dress and then afterward (when you're bound to second-guess yourself anyway) all you have is the pictures to look back on. The last time i looked at the pics of myself I was like ew are you serious? and went into panic mode. then I actually cropped the picture without my face for public posting and realized a lot of it had to do with it being me in the picture (we're our own worst critics) and the fact that I didn't have hair or makeup done. Lindsey's right too, the pro's know the right position, angle, lighting etc, not to make you or the dress look good (because both are already gorgeous) but to show everything at its best.
I think it looks GREAT on you hth!

Thats totally true... my mom is no where near a professional photographer and I obviously don't go out with salon hair and makeup on an everyday basis, haha.
I just hate that I can't look at my dress lovingly, I'm like yuck!
BUT at least I still know I'll love it in person :)

I hattttttte myself in pics. I actually changed my dress because my cousin sent me a picture of me in my 1st dress and I went to try it on for a 2nd time and I didn't like it the 2nd time around.
Now, I looooove my dress but I didn't take any pics of me in my 2nd dress.
Phone cameras are the worst.

I don't like pics of me even in my dress, but I loved it in person! I think its a mental thing and some cameras just take bad pics. I think you look fine in the dress.

I think that you will look beautiful on the day! The dress fits you great. I think that the way your dress is fanned out is what is throwing you off.. It if were more fanned out around you I think you would feel better about the pic. With the right lighting you will be able to see the detailing. I love Macy's but the lighting is horrible! I think you are just worried but I am sure everything will turn out perfect!!!
