I don't have a MOH anymore

Original post by MrsVtoBe

When FH and I picked our wedding party, we decided to keep it small and just family- especially since over the years we have lost touch with many of our close friends.

So I choose 2 sister in laws and Fh's sister. I picked one of my SIL as my MOH since I was close friends with her before she and my brother started going out. Their marriage has been rocky the past few months and she called yesterday to break the news that they are getting a divorce. So yeah, now I don't have a MOH, do I really need one? I don't want to throw someone into that position now just to have one, but I also don't want it to be weird not having one. My shower is already being taken care of by my mom and FMIL so I'm not worried about that.

there is no one else that you are super close with to be your MOH. like a best friend or anything? i feel like you kind of need on. you moh takes you bok from you fixes your dress the whole time during the ceremony and stuff. Its not so much just honoring that person with a title , you need them to help you out!!!

I still have my 2 other bridesmaids who will help me out with all that stuff, just no one with the official 'MOH' title anymore.

just because she is getting divorced that means she has to bail on your wedding?? That makes no sense to me.

ITA give us some insight

Well according to my brother things aren't pretty between the two of them. She said she would still love to be my MOH if I was okay with it, but she didn't want to make me or anyone else uncomfortable. I honestly don't want hat to put my brother or family in that position and certainly don't want any drama on my wedding day or the days leading up to it. So I am doing it out of respect for my brother.

i hear ya sorry to hear about this!

are you guys serious... she was married to her brother and if they are getting divorced that would be disrespectful to her brother!!

Omg how awful! We had a similar thought for our bridal party and whatever comes our way we are keeping it the way it is! Dont worry!

I totally understand why she wouldn't be in the bp any longer, especially if the divorce is an ugly one... that would just be way too weird. GOOD LUCk, and you def don't need a MOH... mine is my 12 year old sister - she can't do ANYTHING, so it all lies on my bm's.
