i don't know what to do

so i've been wishy washy abput my priest. He offered to marry us and he is so nice. BUT he's got a heavy spanish accent and speaks in such a soft tone I'm afraid our guests and even we might have to struggle to hear or understand him.

I called and spoke to the receptionist at the parish office and she said right a lettor to the pastor requesting another priest...but I don't see a listing for the pastor. I feel bad calling back because i didn't want to make a big stink about it and I already felt awful admitting that we were thinking about asking for another priest.

Dont feel bad... I switched Reverends....
I was horrified....and told the first one i didnt want him to be mad, but i was switching churches....I asked the new church and they invited him to co-officiate!

Maybe you could do that and have another priest read the vows??

I didnt pick a certain church b/c the only priest there had the heaviest indian accent and you just couldnt understand him. My grandmother had to stop attending mass there b/c she couldnt understand him at all..
I'm SO HAPPY with the church and priest we have now. They are making things so easy

I had an indian prof at dowling who is also a catholic priest... i was having a nervious breakdown on my way into class over the switching thing...and he told me about how hes had brides back out and he doesnt take it personally...the vows should be read so everyone can understand him...he sd that its rare and officiant is going to be mad or hurt...they are understanding.
