I dont know what to DO!

Im lost my FH was NEVER baptised ( lack of my lovely future Mother in law ) ANYWAY - I belong to St. Thomas here in West Hempstead and he would have to take classes.. Has anyone ever gotten married at reception hall ( i booked Stewart Manor CC ) OR got married elsewhere besided a catholic church ( outdoors, becah etc.. ) He said he'll take the classes so he can be baptised but its a long drawn out process - he would have to go to church 2x a week - YIKES!

my fh is jewish and i am catholic and we are getting married at our reception hall. i would have loved to get married in a church but he felt uncomfortable with that and it's fine with me. if it's not of the utmost importance to wed in a church then consider your reception hall. lots of people on this board see to be doing that too. good luck!

my fiance went to the classes to make his confirmation. It really wasn't that long. it is worth it if you want to get married in a church. He went on Sunday nights. Of course I am saying that it wasn't that bad, but i went the first night with him and refused to go with him any other night

I am catholic and FH is non religious. But I wanted to get married in a church. So we are getting married at a community church. They don't care about him not being religious and it is beautiful inside. I get my chuch wedding. FM me if you want info.

we had our ceremony at smcc. rev joe divincenzo (an liw vendor) performed the ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony - spiritual but not overly religious.

A community church is non- denominational.

we are also getting married at the reception hall- I am catholic, and he is Methodist. We both don't really practice and felt that instead of going through the problems of marrying in my church (he is from MA, and my reverend is somewhat of a nasty person and does not like to marry couples unless they are both of the same parish), that we would take the easy route, and marry at the hall.

Re: I dont know what to DO!

We got married at our reception hall. My DH is Jewish and I'm Episcopalian (sp?) so we had an interfaith ceremony but with a rabbi only. I loved having our ceremony there because it was so easy for our guests, especially our out-of-town guests, because there was only one place for them to travel. The ceremony was beautiful and I wouldn't have done it any other way!

I have not, but my 2 cousins did and it was beautiful. Plus they saved on the limo cost.

I do not know anyone who got married at SMCC, but I know they set up the main dinning area for the ceremony and then dring the cocktail hour, they set up the tables.
