I Don't Know Whether I Should Laugh or Cry ***Closing Update***

DH didn't get home from work tonight until 8:00 PM. I was to say the least not happy about this. That was just the tip of the iceberg. After the last three weeks of making me nuts about going to closing on August 15, (and I do mean nuts!!!) and not understanding why we wouldn't close on August 15 if it was written in the contract (he must have asked at least a dozen times) - guess who can't get out of work to attend the closing on August 15???????

Yup, you guessed it . . . DH!!

*********UPDATE************

So, my attorney managed to get everything accomplished and coordinate with the bank to schedule closing fo August 17 - only two day delay. I was completely thrilled and excited UNTIL I get an email saying the seller's attorney is now making life difficult and is refusing to close on the 17th.

I've had 9 emails in a 12 hour period while people try to work this out.

You can rent Ed to pose as your DH - for a fee.

I hope he can make it, Darlene - for both your sakes.

But for any reason he can't - you'll be fine. I could have done ours alone - all it was was signing papers for 30-40 minutes and then the keys being handed over to us. We shook hands and then left. Our lawyer was there to explain everything along the way.

If you want a friend there, just let me know - I can be there in a heart beat!

It looks like we are changing the date.

PS
Yes, J will be there. He might be black and blue but he'll be there.

So sorry, Darlene!!!!

I think our closing date on the contract said December 1, then it was scheduled for December 18, and at the last minute we changed it to December 15. The date on the contract is just an estimate.

Hope you can change it without too much trouble, just make sure your interest rate doesn't change with the new date!!!!

All Jay really needs is 1-2 hours from work, I'm sure he's got time he could take off, right?

The problem is that Jay's immediate supervisor is on vacation next week, and Jay is being left in charge of EVERYTHING! Which means the two special tasks (on one of the gov't contracts) that have to be done on 8/15 must be done by Jay. The other person in the department is a waste of space.

Can he take a long lunch?? He doesn't really need all day.

See if you can close earlier, like this week. If you end up pushing it back, they can't guarantee the same interest rate that you'd get if you close on the 15th. That's what happened to us, which is why we pushed it up from the 18th to the 15th.
