but these BM/money posts really BOTHER me. I am sitting here annoyed that BM's and MOH's are not on top of their sh*t! Hello I'm sure they have been in many other weddings. Ugggg!

They really bother me too for the opposite reason.

I think its enough that your close friends/family are standing up for you.

Complaining about gifts to me, is just so tacky.

my entire bp has never been in a wedding before.
my moh/sis had to google what she was 'in charge of'
my fsil is getting married 6months after me and im a bm. its my first time.


like i said in another post...... i really hope things get better for fh at work because if not i will not be able to do the things i would want for fsil as a bm.

even though i put a little away now for my duties, at the end of the day our mortgage and monthly bills will always come first

Its not even a money thing because you dont have to spend tons of money on your bride. Its just about helping her. I understand not everyone has money I get that I have been broke for many a wedding. I just feel that BMs and sometimes MOH's feel like all they have to do is show up. They are the bride's support system and if they say they are going to do something whether it be buy a dress, buy a gift, help wrap favors etc be there for your bride. Don't make her life more complicated be upfront don't lie and say you are going to do something and then flake.

I dont remember who posted it but someone had said one of their BM's hadnt replied to an e-mail because she didn't agree or didnt have money for something (I dont remember it exactly) but instead of standing up and saying something she just chose to ignore them.

My girls dont have alot of money and they were very upfront about it so I have been trying to make all of their expenses less. Yes they are paying for my shower, I offered to pay for my own, but they said no. So I gave them suggestions for a backyard shower and I cut my list. I am trying to find the most inexpensive dress of them so they dont have to pay a fortune.

I think its all these posts keep bothering me bc no one communicates these days.

Totally agree. I've been a BM three times before and was never expected to help with shower, etc. Everyone is different though.
