So I chose a makeup artist that I thought would do a really good job...and three of my girls including my mother were going to get there makeup done as well....well I emailed her on Friday and I just heard back from her...
She said she has another bride to do which she hadn't mentioned to me prior and would like to come at 9 AM! 9 AM?? that too me is way too early...I would have to wear my makeup all day long and I tend to get greasy if its heavier makeup (I usually use Neutrogena tinted moisturizer) she said not to worry about it but I am! My photographer is coming at 1:30 so I thought maybe 11 AM or so...
ANd then when am I supposed to get my hair done?? Why does this happen to me 52 days before my wedding? I feel like crying...

well maybe if she comes at 9 then she can do some of the others first and then do ur makeup closer to the time that ur photographer will come

that sounds good...if she has to do other people, she may not get to you until 10:30-11 so that would work out....

Um, no. I would NOT like that. And to be honest it seems unprofessional to spring this on you less than 2 months before your wedding. Like a bride needs any more stress!
I guess like the above poster said, she can do the other ladies first and do your makeup last. You also need her to be 100% clear as to what time she needs to leave. Also, if you booked first (she should have contracts with the date on them) then your party's makeup takes priority.
Sorry, maybe I'm being a b*tch but you're paying her a service and 9am IS a bit early to do your makeup for your 3pm wedding.

Well, My wedding is at 2:30 but we are doing photos before so I have to be ready for the photographer by 11 am - that means hair and makeup getting done at 9 am for me as well. I'm not even the slightest bit concerned. But that's me!
When you got your trial how long did your makeup stay nice for? Maybe do another trial with her and take pictures of your makeup every hour for 10 hours and see what happens grease wise. You can get those cool grease soaking tissue things! or you can start making some new contacts and see if any other makeup artist is available for your date. You never know.... Things always happen for a reason!
Either way don't stress it. It is better to get ready early and have time to relax rather than rushing around like a nut job with the possibility of running late!

just out of curiosity... did you previously book her, and now she's telling you this after the fact? Or are you just now booking her?
Honestly, I think you'll be fine either way - when it comes down to it, an hour or two won't make a huge difference in how your makeup looks at the end of the day. I know that right now this feels like a huge stress, but just take a deep breath - you'll be fine!

It would bother me very much. She's supposed to work according to your schedule, NOT the other way around. She's booking two brides a day to make more $ and you shouldn't have to move things around to accomodate that. If your contract stated that she would be coming to you at 11am and she now wants to change it, that's just plain wrong and she shouldn't be allowed to do that if you don't agree to being ready earlier.

Just to add, I personally would not like 20 people running around me on my wedding day. There's going to be enough stress and I would like to minimize it as much as possible. I'd like to wake up at a certain time, have some time to myself, then have my makeup/hair ppl show up. Having to deal with too many things at once would bother me...expecially so early in the morning.
