the land alone might be worth it, depending on where it is... i am assuming this is going to be bought to knock down and rebuild... land alone can be very expensive, knowing anyone will take it to build and make money on it

most likely someone is buying to to rebuild...Rockville center is a pricey area and i can definately see someone who has the money buying it and building a new house on the land

there is a guy on craig's list that is interested in purchasing all condition homes (condemmed, crack, fire damage, flooded, termite infested, lead poisining, asbestos ...) i should contact him and charge commission for the referral.

There was a house that was completely gutted by a fire on the street directly behind us. Someone paid $580k for it (or rather the piece of property), leveled what was left of the structure and built a new home.
It's all about location.

here is another one in dix hills. granted it has DOES have an acre of property. acre or not, it is still IMO a ridiculous price.
There's another piece of property for sale on Dunlop (again, house fire.)

yes the white colonial. land is still vacant. land was also leveled at the fork on 25A across from the medical office. there is a sign up, but i forgot to look today. i am assuming it is commercial.
BTW - the ranch on greenlawn road (right before the stop signs, near salem) is under contract. they were asking a little over $1M.

I haven't been on 25A by the medical office in a while, so I haven't noticed any of that. I'll have to check it out.
Yeah, the house on Greenlawn has been under contract for a few months now. There's an Arts & Crafts home on Buttercup that was FSBO during the summer and they were asking 1.325M. I don't know what they got for it, but the sign came down within a week.
There have been a few sales in the neighborhood that aren't listed in Domania. I know some of the selling prices b/c my neighbor is a lawyer and did the closings.

there was a house (i think on buttercup, on the corner) this summer for (i think) over 1.3M (lisiting agent was ruth sansivero) that was gone in a matter of weeks. maybe it was the same house that you are referring to. there was another home on salem (a ranch) that sold in the high 700's.

well there are people who buy these fix them up and then resell them for a bunch more than they paid. one of my brother's friends does this.

$250,000 in RVC is a steal though, I guess it would depend if there was structural damage done in the fire but it may be a great project.

I'd buy that house in RVC in a second! After the work, that could be a million dollar house. If you are blessed with contractors as friends and family. YOU ARE SET
