I don't think I'm going to post here for a while...

Here's the story... or what I know of it anyway. My mother vented to me about some details regarding my shower (which I shouldn't even know about... shouldn't this be a surprise... and a happy/non-stressful one at that?). So my mom is stressed out and, of course, that stressed me out, so I vented about it on here. I don't know who read what but whoever is planning the shower found out that I knew everything and got angry with my mother, rightfully so. But it was my fault for posting everything here, when, clearly, this is a public forum. So now everyone is upset at everyone else and I still don't know why I know about anything in the first place!

But I realized that maybe too much is out in the open here and I have to take a step back. I just want to thank you all because, a year ago I knew none of you and now I have many new friends who've helped me get through some stressful times and who've also been with me through one of the most special times of my life - planning my wedding. Some of you I know outside of this website and most of you I don't, but thank you all for being a friend to me - even if it was just for a short while on a wedding website lol Maybe I'll start posting more when the wedding gets closer just to give you guys some updates and photos. I'll be lurking to see how you're all doing. You're all going to be beautiful brides and I can't wait to see your photos and read about your weddings! You might not see me, but I'll be here

I feel you though, lack of privacy is definitely a factor on this site. Just don't post too much personal stuff, we'd hate to see you go!

I'm sorry to see you go, but I completely understand your decision.

Lately I have been having the same concerns. FH lurked on here and saw something that upset him so much, that I really thought he was going to break up with me. Since then, I've been playing it a little closer to the vest.

And I'm starting to get greatly concerned about the lack of security on this site. Plenty other message boards I've belonged to have had protection, so I can't see why this one should be any different. It's very disappointing, especially with the recent trouble occuring on all of the boards here.

Maybe just dont post things you dont want others to see..but you could still respond to the rest of us and post pictures and ideas and what not!

i really agree with everyone who says some sort of privacy factor has to be initiated !!!

people shouldn't be forced to leave the site !!

I understand your reasons... I've thought about it a lo too. I don't post too often, and mostly they are questions about wedding details or I'm posting something silly that nobody cares about.

I've vented on here before and then instantly thought not to do it. You never know who is watching and that's a shame. I decided that I wouldn't vent anything that I wouldn't want that person to see and it's been helpful.

People who know me will definitely know me by my SN but I've kept a lot of the other details private - including the reason I don't have a photo of myself up. You never know... and I've heard some crazy stories.

I vote for a secret new SN and Avatar... :D That way you won't miss out on the fun!!

I really wish that only registered users could read posts, at least on the year boards. That would at least help the situation. Not that they couldn't make a name and password, but it would be a lot harder for lurkers and so they would be less likely.

def agree you can stay on and comment on 'non-sensical' stuff ..just pass by every so often and say 'hi' ..

sorry to see you go but it will only be temporary..good luck with the rest of planning Date twin!

I am so sorry that you are stressed. Everyone should make things easier for you no matter what. I do understand your decision, but don't let things bum you out. Best of luck in all of plans and just think positive thoughts as your day is getting near

sorry you are going through this .....wow I hope things get less stressful.

I love this site and the boards i feel like I have gotten so much from it and have helped me to put my planning in perspective. Considering the I'm an event planner, this should be second nature but there's nothing like getting feedback from your peers that are in your same situation.

As far as what to post here: Me personally, I'm extremely careful w/ that since this is an open forum and I do not post anything that will ever come back to me in a negative way.... I don't even vent b/c you never know who is reading. I have tons of photos that I would like to share as well but choose not to.

It's also diffucult for me to post here b/c my job is superbusy and I hardly have time for lunch. Anyhow...hope to see you on here soon....you can still post just don't post certain things.
