I don't understand brokers!!

Do they know how to use the phone??

My husband and I are looking to buy a condo -(investment property) I call brokers and they don't call back - it amazes me....

same thing when we bought our house...it's unreal.

THis is why I need to get my license and do it myself!!

I never understand them. I remember when we bought our house I called a realtor three times until i finally called the listing agent and got an immediate response.

I guess some don't want to make any money. But it is very frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know when we first started looking at houses and would call multiple agents from mls listings it would take days for us to get calls back. I kept thinking 'how do these people make money?' Then I found an awesome broker who called me back within the hour when I called about a house and he eventually helped us find our place. There are really bad agents out there and really great agents. But when you call the listing agent you never know what you are going to get.

It was sooo frustrating!

You probably got a call back from that listing agent cause he had the opportunity to make full commission on it.

And for people that don't call back... its probably because they already have first offers on the house (as well as a second, third, etc.). No need to call back every single person that calls.

Do you have any idea how many calls these people get?

I sold my co-op FSBO and my phone literally didn't stop ringing. And that was a basic co-op sale.

DJPIll - if I call a listing agent and leave a message about seeing a property listed or ANY OTHER PROPERTY they have and that I am a very serious buyer with at least 25% to put down - I expect a phone call back.

Afterall - There is a right and wrong way to do business - right?

DJ, a responsible ADULT would return business related phone calls. I guess someone needs to grow up.

In my experience, it usually means the property has an accepted offer already.

LOL and if you read some of my previous quotes... you will see that I have said that all RE agents suck. I avoid them like the plague.

I will FSBO anything I have if its even remotely possible to do so.

Yes DJ, we all know- you sold one coop in your whole life like a big boy- all by yourself- so you know absolutely everything there is to know about home buying and selling. Obviously real estate attorneys and real estate agents, as well as others who have bought and sold don't hold a candle to your intelligence. How could I be so foolish to think otherwise.

I am looking ANYWHERE on LI or Brooklyn/Queens for condos that allow you to rent from day one. Where does this broker work??

I'd rather know what I know... than preach stuff like 'binders aren't worth the paper they are written on'... or 'people make multiple offers all the time just because they can't make up their minds.'

Tell you want... if this is the way that you like to play house... maybe you should stick to the dollhouse cause you obviously need to buy a clue.

I'm not sure if she does rentals but you could try... she is in Seaford, Mass, wantagh, bellmore, merrick, wherever!
I'm actually giving her my listing in great neck...
