i dyed my hair black

and it looks kinda silly... My mom saw it and asked what the he L L did you do to your hair.

Does anyone know how to get it lighter without damaging your hair?? I dont want to put another color in....

do i have to go to the salon? I know some of you are hairdressers (Gail-GT143EA) help please?

ETA: I mean I DO want to color it again...sorry guys I am working and not concentrating!!!

i think you look nice

definitely dont do something yourself and NO matter what dont dye it again right now. You will just damage your hair dying it right after and trust me on this bc i did this once. I once bleached my hair when i was younger, after a month i dyed it darker again but didnt like the color so soon after i dyed it again to get more of a red color. It completely damaged my hair and had to chop it all off bc of how fried it looked. Give your hair some time until doing anything to it again.

Also with black hair, go to a salon. It is alot more difficult to deal with. I had a friend who had black hair for a while and when trying to dye it the color wouldn't come out. She had to go to a salon to get the color out, they do a whole different process.

i actually really like it with your eyes... maybe it makes them stick out more which is really cool!

I say keep it......I think it look great. I did the same thing once and if you do want to go lighter go to a salon and they can lift the color. And make sure they do a super deep conditioner that will help it from getting too damaged

I was a DIY black hair girl for 2 years. When I lightened up, I HAD to go to a salon and it took four months to lift the color. It was def a pain but on the bright side, I had the most fun 'jet black'

I like it alot. It's shocking because it's different for you, but it looks really cool and your eyes look fantastic. I mean this as a compliment, totally ... it's catlike!!1

Donna I like it. It is something different and you arent used to it yet but, dont touch it. It will get lighter as the time goes, wash it alot, this will help lighten it.

Donna - I think you look straight off the boat Irish with your hair like that! I hope you dont take that as an insult... I love it!!! I find that family members never like black hair... my younger sister did hers and we all hate it - but everyone else loves it! Its a very dramatic change for family members to get used to!

i love it on you... if you think it might be too severe you can add some brown or honey highlights in it to lighten it up !!

I like it!!! It looks hawt- especially with your light eyes- it makes them pop! Keep it for a while. I have dyed my hair black. Some people said it was too dark and others said it was awesome. I would freak out too and then it would grow on me. It will lighten up within a week or so.
