As I was pulling out of my space in my parking lot today, I completely totaled the front of my new car! I guess I didn't cut the wheel enough and my front bumper hit a concrete pole (that should not have been therw!). The bumper closed in around the pole and is now hanging off. I am so upset and was crying before. I decided to go through my insurance company because I pay for collision, have a low deductible, and most likely would have spent about $3000 to fix it (it's that bad!). FH has been supportive. I am going to take it to their adjuster on Sat. morning and will then take it to Volkswagen (since electrical work will need to be done) on Monday.
I am so upset and angry at myself.

Thanks Kath. I am just so upset because I have never done anything like this before. I have never been in an accident and I am such a careful driver. I keep trying to remind myself that at least I didn't hit someone else.

Oh no Hollie, I'm so sorry!!!! The important thing to remember is that neither you nor anyone else was hurt. Remember your car is just a material thing, let's not lose focus on your priorities.
It's scary being in any kind of accident, I'm glad John is being supportive. After what the 2 of you just spent a year getting through, this should be easy for you to handle. Take it easy tonight and get some rest, move on tomorrow and try not to dwell on it.

Oh Hollie, I'm sooo sorry. Accidents are so frustrating....It can be repaired & it'll be fixed in no time & we've all been there. I remember when I got my first new car, I was at the gas station & was trying to get away from the pump & I turned my car right into a poll ripping off the side of the front bumper. I was crying & the car was literally a day old...thankfully we went thru insurance & it was all fixed.

Thanks ladies! I still feel really bad about what happened, but I am trying to let it go. I just feel so stupid and mad at myself.

Accidents happen sweetie. Take a deep breath, this is why we have insurance.

Exactly - and NO ONE was hurt. That's the most important thing. Don't be so hard on yourself!!!

I'm sorry that happened. The same thing happened to me with my brand new Trailblazer. I smashed the side into a concrete wall while leaving my underground work parking garage. That is why we have insurance !! Don't worry.
