I feel like all I ever do is CLEAN!

I feel like all I ever do is CLEAN!

My DH never picks up after himself. I honestly just picked up his jeans on one side of the living room and socks on the other side of the living room. He has a pile of papers on the Kitchen Table that I asked him to go through on Sunday they are still there. He made Ice Tea before he went to work and spilt the mix on the counter I just walked over there and saw it sitting there and stepped in it on the floor. Its like pulling teeth for him to clean up. He says I did the dishes yeah after I cooked u dinner.

MEN!!

I am still 'training' DH to clean up after himself. Actually...he was the first to vacuum with the new vacuum....and he was pretty grossed out at what was in the canister after a mere week in our apt!!!

Oh, the joys of the first few months! Stop doing his wash and then when he doesn't have underwear or socks for work he will realize it has to be put in one spot if he wants to have clean things.

For Dh that spot is right next to the hamper outside of our shower (but it used to be a trail throughout the house at the begining!)

LOL Im glad im not alone. I tried the 'im not gonna clean' thing but it gets to the point where I cant take it anymore. My cousin lives downstairs my aunt and uncle and other cousins live across the street... Im so afraid of them coming over and seeing it.

We are still 'in training' - I did the same things - if the clothes were not in the hamper (and I bought him his very own!) then the clothes did not get washed. When his mom comes over and sees a mess - I just tell her - that I am still trying to train him.
He's getting better now.

Wow - you are living my life! I have such a hard time with this too. I completely understand. I also tried not cleaning up after him but then it drives you crazy. I guess I found a happy medium. As far as the clothes all over the house, I leave them there. I think that when you go around picking it up he doesn't even realize that he's leaving it there. Now for the messes. I leave that too for a while. If it's not picked up/cleaned up then I will point it out to him.

I struggle with this because I don't want him to feel like he has to live on eggshells with me. That if he doesn't put his cup away I am going to get p!ssed off, ya know? But I did sit down and explain to him that he has to pull his own weight...if he doesn't clean it up or pick it up, that means he's leaving it for me to do. There's only 2 of us. If it's not him then it's me.

It's gotten a little bit better! I'm here for ya!

Believe me - sometimes it's the other way around! I am the one who feels like I always clean!

OMG! Me too! This weekend our apartment was spotless, I mean could eat off the floors. As of last night, I couldn't even see the kitchen table or counters. FH just started the Nassau County Police Academy and he has binders, hand outs, index cards, uniforms, PT clothes and other stuff ALL over our 1 BR apartment. Let me also mention that we're in the process of assembling our invitations too, so those are all over. I can't even imagine what it will be like when we have a house!

I am in the same boat!!! I have tried not cleaning, leaving laundry on the floor, you name it, the only thing that works for me is tears! If I start crying he knows he has to pitch in. I want my home clean, he does not 'get it'...oh well...continue the process of training!

Why are men sooooooooooooo lazy. My DH is such a pain in the a$$ when it comes to housework. He called in sick to work this week b/c he had a 'tummy ache' (what a friggin baby) and he did nothing all day except rearrange the kitchen cabinets to fit in his collection of mugs.
I asked him to feed the cats and to do the laundry before I left for work. His excuse was that he does not know how to use the washing machines in our building and b/c I did not leave him detailed, written instructions on how to use it! ***! Well, I made him do it that night and now he KNOWS how to do it!

Okay what about this one....anyone have a DH or FH (we live together) who comes home from a trip and does not unpack there bag until they go away again the next time. Yes that would be my guy.....he takes out what he needs, leaves the bag in the living room till I finally throw it in his closet and then it sits there until he has to empty it for the next weekend trip away.....

Then there is always the boxer shorts left on the couch in the morning, because he gets up first and he changes in the living room....ah the joys of married life.....
