My parents and brother moved there from San Antonio.... about six months after I moved to NYC.
I go visit them twice a year (well I DID before the wedding planning).
They live in Hawarden,IA and Akron, IA. 6 miles east of South Dakota.
Sleepy back water towns. Everytime I visit it takes me a whole day to slow down. By the second day Im already looking at my watch wondering how long I'd been there!
People are real nice and the schools are great though.

I used to work with a girl who lived in Iowa and she and her friends used to do that on Friday nights. That was their 'fun' thing to do.

I was just there for work this week and I have to tell ya there is nothing but farmland!!!! It was 4 degrees when I arrived on Monday. I am SOOOOOOO happy to be home

I spent a thrilling week at a work-sponsored training in Council Bluffs a couple of years ago. The area was under a tornardo watch all week-I was terrified!
I don't think we need to move out there to win. What we need to do is all work on the same shift at a factory and buy the ticket together. Doesn't it seem like these people always win?
People are real nice and the schools are great though.
Best public education in the nation!!!!

I watch Press your Luck everyday on the game show network. I LOVE that gameshow. I still scream at the tv STOP, dont press your luck, pass...LOL
