like a year and a half ago, fh called his friend that has a greek band to book for our wedding, so he said he'd pencil us in
then a little while after like a month , i messaged him on fb and me and fh both called him so we can like meet a go over pricing, what we want etc. and never heard back from him, sooooo we booked someone else
then i get a message on my fb from him (yes like 6 weeks before my wedding) asking us to call him to over the details... um what?!
i felt HORRIBLE but seriously who doesnt call in a year and a half?! im sorry but i needed definite answers at the time to know if we had a band or not and because he never called back i took that as he prob booked someone else and felt bad or something
am i really wrong? i seriously feel bad but why wouldnt he have called to discuss anything in the year and half?

I definitely don't think you're wrong...you were just supposed to go on him 'penciling' you in? This is a wedding not a last minute thing.

Joanna - He never got back to you - I would feel bad too (a little), but you needed to get it done with. Its not like you didn't make contact with him - he never got back to you.

do not feel bad. just call him and explain the situation. he can't expect that you'd feel comfortable booking a vendor and not talking to them for over a year and half!!

Absolutely NOT if I don't get an answer within a week from a vendor friend or not. I am on to the next one. You did the right and best thing for YOUR wedding. This time in your life is not to be sympathetic nor empathetic for anyone else but yourself and FH.

well, I understand why you feel bad, but at the same time, he should have taken the wedding seriously and MAGIC MARKERED you in, not just 'oh ok ill pencil you in' and there should have been some sort of contact at any point, whether it was with you or with mike. He can't expect that at a month before your wedding, you are still going to be waiting around for him.......people book up fast and you needed to make sure you had someone. You are being too nice - lol. It is his fault and don't sit here being upset over Greeks who take 2980034920429 days to do anything.

you're right girls, i just wish it played out differently especially cuz its fh's friend... wonder if he's still coming to the wedding lol but ill really feel worse if he doesnt

I dont think your wrong at all! If he would have called you or FH back, or even shot you a message back on FB, then you wouldn't have booked anyone else. You considered him as your first option and he didn't respond! You couldn't take the chance of not having music!

you are certianly not wrong. You couldn't wait this long without knowing for sure. I am positive any one of us would have done the same thing. Try not to feel bad how were you to know he actually had you in thier schedule.

I had the same thing happen with a friend of mine who is a florist. I kept calling her, and she kept pushing back our apt's...so I said forget it and went to someone else (my type A personality needs a contract in hand to feel better!) She literally called me two days after i booked saying how excited she was to help with my flowers etc. Oh well...people will have to get over it!

No way Joanna, definitely don't feel that way. I understand totally where your coming from but honestly he has to know that, thats no way to run a business. You don't just leave people hanging for over a year. Anyone of us would've done the same exact thing as you and went elsewhere, you don't want to risk being stuck without music at your wedding!
