We just found out that several members of FH's family are sick and wont be able to attend the wedding. Obviously our thoughts are with these people and hope that everything turns out ok, and we completely understand that they can't attend. I just feel so bad for FH. These are close family members, and he doesnt have a huge family, so he was really looking forward to them being there. A good percentage of the guests are from my side, so this will make it even more uneven. I sort of feel like this wedding is just for me, and he's just along for the ride.

awwwww i am so sorry, i know it meant alot to him to have them there but the day of he will be surrounded by many loved ones and yes that includes your family bc now that is his family.
Is his family ok? what do you mean by sick? the flu or something serious?

I know exactly how you feel. I posted about my fh the other day and how a lot of his friends can't make it for all different reasons and his dad's whole side of the family isn't coming either. He hasn't seen them in a while and his sister said that they just don't go to anything anymore. He felt terrible about all of it, but its so not his fault. Our wedding will be the same as yours, mostly my guests. We're getting married at the RH and i'm going to tell them to make sure the sides are even for the ceremony. He is slowly getting over it, but i feel really bad for him. I know once the day comes, he won't give those people a second thought. He said that as long as i show up, thats all that matters! Sorry you are going through this too. I'm sure his family really wanted to be there!

also dont worry. Most of my family is not here, they are overseas and i SERIOUSLY have very little family that will be at the wedding. FH will have about 100 family members or more lol, and you know what at first i was like oh great but now i dont care anymore. I just see it as everybody there will all be there to celebrate the both of us.

Thanks. No, its something more serious- one is recovering from surgery and the other needs to have surgery very soon. We definitely know their health comes first, but FH is so disappointed...I just feel terrible for him

Sorry to hear that. I have a very small family here and I know I would miss them if they couldn't make it. He is marrying the girl he loves on a very special day for both of you..so he's not just along for the ride

i really know how you feel. all of my FH family is in poland, only his mom is coming. :( there only like 25 people coming from his side. but you know the way i look at it. my family is now our family.
