I feel so bad for one of my BM

My best friend is 4 months pregnant. After 2 1/2 years of trying she finally became pregnant with twins. Into her 2nd month she lost one of the twins. On friday she went for a blood test that cks for spinal bifida & down syndrome. well her blood work came back today, there is a chance that her baby may have down syndrome. I feel so bad. And today is her birthday.

I'm so sorry, but please know that if this test was the AFP test, it has a VERY high false positive rate. The same thing happened to me, and MANY Others that I know.

If it makes you feel any better, something similar happened to my cousin. She was told that her baby may have down's syndrome, and she had to wait several days for the test results to come back. The test turned out to be negative, and Megan is just fine. I guess what I'm saying is that there's a chance the fetus is fine and the test is negative. I'll keep her in my prayers, though.
