I was driving back from dropping off dry cleaning and narrowly missed a long haired Jack Russell running on the side of Bread & Cheese Hollow Road. I turned the car around to see if it ran back home and instead she ran up to my car and when I opened the door, jumped in!
I keep a spare leash in the car, so I brought her to my vet to see what to do ... she had a collar but no tags & was a little ratty.
Anyway, I had to take her to the Huntington Shelter and when I walked out, I burst into tears!!
She was sooo friendly & sweet, I hope her family is looking for her. If they don't, on the 8th day she goes up for adoption.

I'm not sure we could handle FOUR dogs aside from the fact that she seemed pretty typical JR (ACTIVE) and ours are older and kinda sedate ...

aww Wendy!! ...I hope her family finds her!!! You did the right thing..just think if you hadn't found her, she may have been injured, or worse... I'm sure she'll be ok!!

AWWWW I feel bad for you. But you did the right thing by picking her up b/c she probably would have gotten hit. I got my cat b/c I was in a parking lot and the car in front of me slowed down and threw something out the window. As I passed out popped a little head. They threw a kitten out of a moving car. The little puppy is lucky you stopped to pick her up.

I'm so glad you saved the puppy Wendy. That's also a great idea about keeping a spare leash in the car. You don't know how many times we come across strays by us

Wendy you absolutely did the right thing, don't feel bad. That is such a dangerous road for her to being loose on. Better that she be in a shelter getting food water and care then on that street and in danger. I know you feel bad but don't

You shouldn't be sad! Just think about what could've happened to her if you hadn't picked her up. She'll be safe now. I'm sure her owners will be calling around looking for her.
We just got Bama micro-chipped yesterday. I think it's so important to do!
