i feel so sick
I don't know why I feel like this is such a huge deal. If i read the convictions correctly, passing on the right is $200 fine and 3 points on your license.
I wouldn't care about the Insurance part, because it won't effect me for another year and I did take a 5 hour course a few weeks ago online.
But I cannot up front that money right now. I have to lower my credit card a little to reduce the interest. If it were a $50-100 fine, I might have leaned more towards paying it, since the officer claimed he did me a favor and got me for the improper passing and not the speeding which I didn't think I was doing.
What had happened was I driving on the Southern state, and where the lanes turn into 3, I was in the middle. The car to the right of me cut me off, slowed down to under 40 mph, no signal due to the fact that the taillight was smashed. I slam on my breaks, the car behind me comes right up on me and I swear I was about to be rear-ended and/or possibly rear end the guy who cut me off, so I moved to the right being that it was empty, because the far left lane had a car. I didn't realized I was 'passing' more like saying to myself 'phew i just avoided an accident'. Next thing I know, I'm being pulled over. Cop said I was speeding and passed on the right twice. I was in total shock that I couldn't explain myself properly to the officer. I'd had been pulled over ONCE, and that was for a headlight out.
At the time, I drove an SUV with really bad pick up, there's no way in hell I was doing 97 in 55, shouldn't I have been arrested? And also, why am I being ticketed for passing on the right when the douchebag in front of me changed lanes without signaling, had a broken tail light AND traveled in the left?
Makes no sense. I had already postponed this once, due to the fact that I got a Jury duty summons the same week I was to have this hearing. So I'm kinda hoping the cop forgot about me, since this all happened in March.
But, I could still use a tiny LIW prayer. Either my cop not to show up or the judge to have mercy on my bridal soul.
