I feel so stupid even asking this

dont want to seem like im cheap or something BUT................

with all the money we're spending on the RH per person & Im sure all the food will not be eaten - like all the desserts during the Vienesse Hour - but if there's things left - I would love to take some home... Am i a big time cheapo or something? b
ut it would be such a waste if they threw it out.

***UPDATE*** went to CB tonight for menu selection & learned the following:

- yes they will pack up the goodies in to go boxes from Vienesse Hour
-for dinner, FH & I will get to try everything from our entrees - not quite sure how i will manage to try everything but the thought of it makes me hungry :)

we are taking it home...My RH is packing it all up for us and we are bringing it to the hotel....

I cannot wait because I am getting cotton candy to take home....

I know that my RH lets us take home everything that is left if we want too, they also offer to donate it to a local shelter, so it is not wasted. Ask your rh, im sure they will let you!

My RH will actually pack up whatever we want to take home. I don't see why yours wouldn't - def ask them! I agree.. it would be a shame to throw out all that food!

I HATE beyond anything wasting food!!! This was an issue for me when we were booking cus I wanted to take out food stations, but halls were charging us the same anyway, so we left them in. I'd like to know also if we get to take some home. I really am strongly against wasteing food!!!

i dont know if id want to take hot food home - like leftovers from the CH b/c it can be dangerous...i mean i eat things i leave out at home but i know a RH probably wouldnt want to be liable in the event someone got sick......but taking home any left over dessert foods from the VH would probably be good and still safe to eat....

I went to a Rh that gave us boxes to pack up after vienesse hour. The bride and groom kept on comint up to us saying 'please take more take more'

You're not making shiz up. When I worked in catering we weren't allowed to pack up food and send it home. You're liable to health code or something like that.....and if anything happens, i.e. ppl get sick, food is spoiled, etc., the RH is liable. So technically they shouldn't, but lots do it anyway.

Then again, I also could be making shiz up......

wow, that is really cool.
i work at a restaurant that throws out ridiculous amounts of food everyday. i always ask why don't we donate it, and i get some dumb answer about legal issues, food allergies, board of health....

this being said, my restaurant uses styrofoam kiddie cups and we don't recycle our beer/wine bottles. so i know it's a lost cause, because they just don't give a cr ap.

gotta love those big money hungry corporations!

I'm sure that you can ask if you can take some home- I am asking if Russo's can pack FH and I a small box of goodies for the plane ride the next day and FH loved that idea.

I am also asking that they box up a nice slice of cake for my friend (the one that was supposed to be my MoH) so that her husband who is coming to the wedding can take it home for her to enjoy.

When we went there for the tasting at Russo's they offered to box up some sweets for us to take home so I don't see why not.
