dont want to seem like im cheap or something BUT................
with all the money we're spending on the RH per person & Im sure all the food will not be eaten - like all the desserts during the Vienesse Hour - but if there's things left - I would love to take some home... Am i a big time cheapo or something? b ut it would be such a waste if they threw it out.
***UPDATE*** went to CB tonight for menu selection & learned the following:
- yes they will pack up the goodies in to go boxes from Vienesse Hour -for dinner, FH & I will get to try everything from our entrees - not quite sure how i will manage to try everything but the thought of it makes me hungry :)

I know that my RH lets us take home everything that is left if we want too, they also offer to donate it to a local shelter, so it is not wasted. Ask your rh, im sure they will let you!

Most of the weddings I've been too, if you don't finish the desserts (cookies and petite cakes) I've seen most places offer a box for us to take some of the goodies with us.
I know that some of my friends were able to take home the left over entrees that were paid for but that were given out since those guests didn't show up.

My RH is letting us pack everything up as well. Which is good because the Bride and Groom usually don't get to enjoy everything.

Your not being a cheapo at all. Smart if you ask me.
When DH & I finally sat to eat, our table had our apps, salad, and the entree. I didn't end up eating any of it because when there is so much food in front of me I just get full looking at it. I should have asked them to pack it up for me (or they should have offered). Thankgoodness I chowed in the bridal suite during cocktail hour. Yeah for taking pictures before the ceremony!!!!

I know at mine if the guests do not finish or do not want their dinner they can have it wrapped and they also have to go boxes at the vienesse hour so the guest can take some goodies to go. I would def check with your rh as to what they would do...

Some of the catering halls will donate the food to an organization like Island Harvest where the food goes to people in need...but it can't hurt to ask to take it home.

You're not making shiz up. When I worked in catering we weren't allowed to pack up food and send it home. You're liable to health code or something like that.....and if anything happens, i.e. ppl get sick, food is spoiled, etc., the RH is liable. So technically they shouldn't, but lots do it anyway.

I got the same answer - and it makes sense...EXCEPT when they turn around and tell you they'll donate it to a charity. so wait - i can pay for it , donate it in your name and not get the tax credit, possibly make less fortunate people ill.......but we can't pack up some sweets and yummies to enjoy as our first full day as H &W?? Guess they don't want the middle class folk getting the bubonic plague?? lolol - seriously - makes no sense to me

NO, DEFINETELY ASK, MOST RH WILL LET YOU AND USUALLY PACK THINGS UP FOR YOU AT THE END OF THE NIGHT

I honestly didn't think of this beforehand, but my RH packed EVERYTHING up at the end and sent it back with us in the limo. My parents and brothers LOVED this lol.. I wish I got one of the desserts though, they ate them all before we got back from the HM lol

my fbil came in under his minimum for their wedding at Lombardis on the Sound and they wrapped up extra meals for them.

some RHs will give the food to Natures Harvest
Watermill does this, but we get the Viannese
Other RHs put it in the back for the staff to eat (FH eate very well at CHCC..so jealous)
