I found out about my bridal shower, grr

My mom is throwing my shower and she is so excited. I had originally wanted it to be a surprise.

Yesterday, FH was driving and asked me to text someone using his phone. I open his phone and there is a text he sent his sister, telling her when my shower is. I didn't tell him I saw it. Now I'm torn- Part of me is glad, so I can make sure I look good, but I'm also disappointed that I found out about it. I'm not sure if I should tell my mom or FH that I know about it. I am a terrible actress, not sure I can pretend to be surprised. Grrr.

No, it's not for a while. That's how excited my mom is for this- she booked it wayy in advance. Now I have to pretend like I don't know...for months!

Just pretend. It will probably make everyone feel better if you at least try to be surprised! That stinks though! I found out about my shower this weekend, my sister told me the date because I have to come up for it. I was a little bummed at first, but the rest is a surprise. Like you said, at least now you know to look nice!

just pretend you didn't know about. It sounds like your mom is really excited to be throwing this for you and she may be dissapointed if she found out you knew when it was.

i don't think i would tell them, if yoru mom is that excited about it, i would let her have this one thing. you'll still be super excited about the shower the day off so it will still look genuine that day your reactions.

I totally do not want mine to be a surprise. I am not really into surprises. I only get one shower and I want to look nice at it. I'm not going to plan it or anything.....but I do want to know about it. I get final say in favors and everything because FMIL is a little favor crazy. Also, I will know where it is.
