Me too - you definitely get used to it. By the way, I ALWAYS take 2 advil about 1/2 hour before my appointment and I never put anything on it afterwards. I get it done either a Bliss or at J Sisters and they put something on it afterwards and say there's no need for anything else. I've never had a problem....

OMG the thought makes me want to faint!
I agree though if you're going for a bikini you might as well go all the way....

I'm also pretty modest, so I dunno... even going to the gyno is a little stressful for me haha

How long does it take before the tenderness goes away? A day, or a couple? More?

I'll def get it done for the wedding - dunno after that

I am going to do it again for the wedding after that we shall see. It depends how well the tylenol works!!!

Next time you can try putting on LMX4 or LMX5 on right before you get it done (it's a topical numbing solution that you get from the pharmacist - you have to ask for it). That's what I use when I get lasered (along w/taking a vicodin, lol). Just remember if you do use it to not leave it on for longer than 20-30mins and to wash it off afterwards. I've been using it for 2 years and so long as you use it wisely it isn't an issue.

Yup, that's what it's called. LMX-4 is a little weaker than LMX-5, but not every pharmacy carries both (or either for that matter), so you may have to try a couple of pharmacies. It's about $40 for a small tube which could last about 1 1/2-2 uses and a larger is about $80-$90. It's pricey, but worth it. You have to actually ask the pharmacist for it though, but you don't need a prescription. Just remember a couple of things. 1. use rubber gloves to apply it. 2. Don't leave it on for hours. I put mine on in the bathroom of the laser place, wait in there about 20mins. and then wash it off w/paper towels. A lot of ppl do it, so it's not uncommon for them to see. Just don't put your clothes on while you're letting it soak in or it'll get on the inside of your clothes and it IS something you need to be careful with and not treat carelessly. Let me know if you have any other questions!!

It's supposed to reduce your sensitivity. I wouldn't say it numbs you exactly, but it desensitizes you. You can ask them to apply it if you want, but they may not want to. It's really not hard to do, I swear. Just put on rubber gloves, rub it on, let it sit for 20mins (which is the boring part to just sit there and stair at the walls of a bathroom) and then wet down paper towels and rinse it off. It's totally okay if you you rub it off and there's a slight residue afterward. I just always make sure to go home and shower after I get lasered just to make sure it's completely off. The ppl who have had issues with it is b/c they left it on for hours and wrapped themselves in suliphane while it soaked in so it was not dangerous if you left it on for that long and didnt allow your skin to breath. If you really don't trust yourself I'm always a big believer of a pain killer 20mins beforehand. I have super sensitive skin. I actually decided to get laser treatment first b/c I had large hair folicles and fair skin so when I used to shave I would get so many cuts I would look like I was attacked, lol. And then I'd have stubble 5hours later!! It was horrible, and the laser treatment was SOO painful at first that I actually had tears running down my face the first time. But after that I took a pain killer 20mins beforehand (that I had left over from the dentist) and used the LMX and while I still feel the pain, it's a LOT more bearable.
