I GOT A NEW JOB!!!!!

OK, so it's official: after 6 years teaching at a high school in brooklyn, I got a job in Long Island! Yay! The pay is more, the neighborhood is way less scary than the one I work at now, the people seem nice and supportive, and it's a tenure-track position so I should have my tenure in 2 years. I signed the paperwork this morning after meeting with the superintendent of the district. I'm so excited!

What district did you get a job in? So many of us work on the island I bet you got a job in a district one of us already work in!!!!!

Farmingdale. I'm a total LIW / LIFamilies stalker and I think I've only found one other girl who teaches there. I know one guy in 'real life' (hee!) who teaches in the district and is really happy - that's why I applied. If any of you teach there, or know anyone who does, I'd love to know! It's going to be weird in September working at a place where I only know one person (and he's just a friend's brother).
