DH and I got tattoos on Thursday - we got our wedding date in roman numerals.....I have a tattoo on the back of my neck and I put it underneath that, kind of where your collarbone is....and I got my other neck tattoo touched up.....
Am I nuts or what?!?!?!?!?! I can't believe I did it
For those of you with tattoos, what did you use and for how long? I don't remember from my past tattoos and I always hear different things about what you should use and for how long....
I'm at work so I don't have pics with me hahaha but I have a video and pics of me getting inked up hahahaha.....

Obviously, do not use vaseline or neosporin. Just use bacitracin for a bout a week and then just switch to non scented lotion. Other than that keep it clean and let it air out as much as possible when you can. =D :) I want to see pics!

I used A&D ointment, its what they suggested. When cleaning it use an antibacterial soap, clean it and then after put the ointment on it, do that about 2x a day. A&D is what they always suggested to me

Fun! I want one but keep chickening out.
DH got a new one this summer and they told him to use A&D ointment but I don't remember for how many days. And then they said scentless moisturizer after that.

thats cool, i have 2 tattoos, i know i couldn't let it get dry, i think i used neosporin, but theres another name of it i can think of!!!

i've been using A&D and keeping it kind of shiny and letting the air get to it - i got it on Thursday afternoon - today i had to come to work so i didn't put any A&D on b/c i don't want to get grease in my hair or on my clothes - i can't put my hair up i cut it - did the newlywed chop already ....i guess i'll put more A&D on today and then maybe start with lotion tomorrow? or wait a week before using lotion?

for all my tattoos for the first week i had to use bacitrcin (sp?) at least twice a day, then after that keep it moisturized with lubriderm for at least 2 weeks, but i'm still moisturizing my newest one 4 weeks later.

I would do the A&D for a week, and it should start to scab up and look gross lol Then just make sure you lotion it up all day long. Don't let it dry out. I know its a hard spot to possibly get to, but its also a good thing that your hair is short, this way it's not covering it up and it's able to get more air :)

well just make sure you do it tonight. Dont skip a day right after you get a tat. I was a bit obsessed and maybe did it a little too much lol. And yeah after i would even moisturize it alot. But ive seen some ppl who didnt heal too well so guess thats why i became obsessed bc didnt want the same thing to happen

yeah, today is the first day its not soaked in A&D i am obsessed too hahahaha but today i was afraid to put A&D and then cover it - i figured its better for it to get air then to have it covered and wet with ointment all day - when i got home i can put my hair up and put some A&D back on it but for work i didn't want to walk around like that.....its a very small tattoo and it's not really scabby yet, just a little raised....i don't remember what it was like to get a tattoo, i didn't remember them feeling raised in the beginning....but FH's is the same way....almost feels like scabs but no scabbing yet, just like rough feeling....its weird i don't remember how my other tattoos healed at all or what i did and neither does FH...

yeah it does feel a bit raised, at first can look nasty well looks real shiny and then when you wash it you get all the residue cleaning off of it. But i remember feeling my back and being able to feel it raised

LOL, mines you cant see unless i have a bathing suit on. I got in on my hip bone. Where did your DH get his?? Did you guys make any shape with the numerals? Give us a little clue as to what it looks like!

this one shows more than my previous neck tattoo b/c its low on my neck right above the shoulder blades, it really shows especially now that i got a haircut!
we both got them done plain, black ink, straight across, like XII V MMVIII - with no lines on top and bottom, its just the letters....
DH copied Rhianna and got it in the same spot as hers - except his is on the opposite side, so his tattoo reads from his shoulder and ends toward his neck - if that makes sense....

That's sooooo cool. Any pics???? When I got one of mine I was told to only use soap and coco butter after 2 days. All the other stuff pulls the color out and it's not good to use.
