I got a ticket on the way back from a workshop. Should I plead gulity?
This morning I had to go to a workshop at another school. On the way back to school an unmarked car had his lights on. I pulled over to let him through, not realizing he was pulling me over. He said I was going 45 mph at a 20 mph school zone. I passes many schools not realizing it at the last school. This ruined my day. What bothers me more is the points on my license. It is my first ticket.
How ironic that I am a teacher and got pulled over for speeding in a school zone.
Should I plead guilty pay the fine and get the points on my license or plead not gulity and see if I could get the fine knocked down at court?

I ditto what Emily said. Definitely show up. One of the most devistating things for my mom was when she was pulled over for passing a school bus, which she did not do. The cop pulled over her car and one that looked like it, the other one was the one that went through, but they both got tickets cause he was an a$$. Anyway, she is a teacher and was mortified that this happened to her. She fought it as far as she could.

It depends on where you got the ticket. Nassau or Suffolk? If you got it in Nassau plead not guilty and show up. If it was in Suffolk plead guilty. You can't win there.

She got it in Naassau. I think she is going to plead not guilty. The cop told her if she does, she wont get a court appearance until 2005 or 2006 and by then I am sure the cop wont remember or he may not even be there.Scott
